I am sitting here at work and my cell justs beeps that I have a voicemail - it's some chick from Body Heat entertainment saying that they are a 'preferred vendor' and blah, blah, blah. Who are they a preferred vendor of and where did they get my cell # from???? If it's from my reception hall - I will be VERY PISSED!!

Let me tell you that a specific vendor on this board and I wont name who....called me every week for an entire year......even called me a month after I was married. As many times as both I & DH told this vendor that we already had a _______ and to please take us off the list they continued to call

Stacy - I can't believe you put up with it for that long - I would have told them to stop calling or i would make a phone harassment charge!! I keep getting calls (see it on the Caller ID) from vendors that i went to visit but didn't use - guess what - if you haven't heard back from me in 3 months - I obviously didn't like you!!

Its happened to me too. Very annoying. I would NEVER consider signing with a vendor that cold called me.

LOL that is sooo funny!! why do they do that? The last few weeks I have had so many vendors call or email me.... and I had talked to them soooo many months ago!! I think If I wanted to book you and I was looking to book 3 months ago.. you would have heard from me! I dont play hard to get On the other hand I have gotten one vendor who got the point.. at the end of the meeting she told me shed give me an 'update' call in a month or so and see how I felt b/c I had so long to go... she slipped up and said something soooo stupid during the convo that I think she was too embarassed to ever call me again!

I got a florist from my place's house florist fired because she was rude and nasty and pretentious and I called my Banquet Manager to complain and he called them and then the florist kept calling so one day I finally picked up and they called to specifically tell me that she no longer worked there!

jcova... Im getting married at the Jericho Terrace too and Im so glad that someone else is getting those annoying phone calls too.. these photographers and djs keep calling me.. one even calls at 9pm... have you gone with anyone from Jericho Terrace? FM me, i would love to know

You would think sometimes they would get the point - but I booked my band 12/02! But I still get calls (they call ME then hang up and call right back for FH) I told them that I have already booked someone over a YEAR ago but every month they call.
I went to see one popular florist who was rude and then called me JUNIOR my BM came with me and she thought the owner was horrible - so obviously I would NOT use them - but they call almost once a week to two weeks since AUGUST and I have told them I booked my florist - they say ok but next week they call again - Since my parents haven't sold my apt the phone is still connected I check it every so often and there are like 5 messages a MONTH from them!

I had one vendor call saying we are a preferred vendor from X hall..they recommend us all the time blah blah. I said I already have this service and I do not know where you got my name from because I have NEVER been to X hall and my wedding is at Y.

They usually call my house or mail me stuff. I keep getting the same phone call from some favor/wedding invitation store out in suffolk. And they keep getting the answer machine

They used to call me all the time but finally stopped sometime last year. I won't go to anymore bridal shows or sign up for ANYTHING anymore. I can't deal with the calls!

It was my hall with the 'preferred vendors' I know when they ask for Ms. XXX since no one in their right mind calls my cell phone and says 'Ms. XXX'
I just say 'is this wedding related' If they say yes, then I say (in one breath which cracks up Jim) 'I have booked everything I need and I MEAN everything, no I haven't missed a thing, yes I thought of the music, the flowers, the dresses, the make up and hair and yes I know all about the packages you can or can't offer but the only need I have is shoes and corset, if you're not offering that I am sorry but I do not need your services.' Most never call back.
It helps I just don't answer my cell most of the time anyhow. The people I know all realize im a busy woman at the office, I dont sit on my butt waiting for my cell to ring and if you leave me a voicemail on my office line I'll call back, otherwise, leave me alone, I have rent to pay.
Heaven help the telemarketer who calls me on my cell phone.. heh

I had a DJ company call me all the time and they got my name from my hall. After I ignored his messages for a while, I finally picked up and told him I booked somewhere else, he stopped calling.

They definitely got your number from the reception hall. When we first got engaged and started looking around and going to bridal shows, we were bombarded with vendors calling and our mailbox was overflowing with wedding related stuff. It's pretty much died down now, but whenever I get those calls I thank the person for calling but tell them that I've already booked elsewhere. There have been very few places that have continued to call. I guess I should count myself lucky.
