OMG - DH just told me my MIL is staying with us for a week!
I cant believe he did this. My MIL usually visits from Ohio once a year for a week or so in the summer and then again around the holidays. This is her first visit since we moved into the house. She always stayed at my BIL's. They have 2 kids and my SIL works PT so there is plenty for my MIL to do during the day over there house.
I asked DH if he planned to take some time off and he said no (he dosent get much vac time.) What am I supposed to do just leave her all alone M-F? We dont even have the guest room set up yet!
Just venting here - but I am open to suggestions.

Isn't marriage grand? I bet you will do fine!!! I would let DH know that next time he needs to 'discuss' with you before he makes that kind of decision

I wish you a quick trip My mother's hubby did the same thing, took them up here from Jamaica and did not take any time off and left them at home for the entire time they were here. I don't think its right. I hope she is at least a lovely lady

Does she have friends here that she can visit during the day? Maybe see if there are any local events going on then to keep her occupied a bit.
