omg guest list out of control!!

so i want to kick the #$#@$ out of my FH seriously he has no concept of how much this wedding is costing. Last night i printer our guest list and tried to ween out who we really didnt have to invite and he was being pissy i was like what's wrong and he goes well why did we send save the dates to people and now we are cutting them out! am i wrong? we guarenteed 125 budgeted for 150 we are currently at 165 and he wants to invite a couple of other people that we did not send save the dates. I love FH but he isnt paying for the wedding, i am and honestly i dont know that i will be able to afford it if he keep increasing the guest list.

So in conclusion am i wrong to cut people i sent a save the date to?

Any advice will be greatly appreceiated!!

I actually want to do the same thing but we're really not supposed to cut out people that were sent save the dates already

If you sent them save the dates I think it is a bit rude to then not invite them.

I think if you sent people STD's already you have to send them an invite.

thanks so much for the advice ladies i guess im jsut panicking because i see the amount we still owe and with my pay alone i dont know how ill swing it but i guess i have too! :)

if you sent a save the date, you must send them an invite. keep in mind about 15-20% will say no. so, if you invite 165, and 15% say no, that's 140 people. GL!

I think you have to invite all the people you sent STD to. And your numbers are very close to mine and just to give you an idea of my no rate. WE have a min of 125. I invited 181 and seriously thought I would get close to all 181 to say yes because its all family and very close friends. We kept our list to family...no work people no friends I haven't seen and no kids. Well now that it is less than a week to our RSVP date we are going to be luck to make the min. So I wouldn't be worried that all 165 are going to come. People that we had a def yes are responding no. So I really dont think you will end up over your budget at all.

I would invite them. I didnt send save the dates to everyone for this reason.

why dont you ask him to pay for his guests? or at least the extra guests that he wants to invite? I think that is fair

i wouldn't cut people you sent a save the date to unless there was some sort of circumstance such as an argument. People I think will get offended and if they already planned a trip or something around your wedding or they will DEFINITELY be upset.

I kind of agree with a few people on here. It is rude to cut people out that you sent a save the date. FH and I received a save the date for a friend of a friend's wedding and we were all ready to go to the wedding and never received an invitation despite the fact that I was invited to the bridal shower! All in all that couple is not invited to our wedding!

i would invite those who u sent an std to...maybe ask people not to bring guests..and with the economy the way it is im sure we will all be getting a few extra nos

I think you should invite the people who recieved STDs but don't add anymore. I'm having the same problem. Our min is 130 I want ~140-150 and our list is at 210!!! I keep telling FH and my mom to cut the list but they just keep adding people!

I agree with the rest, if they have an STD you have to invite them. But I'm sure we're all going to be getting a lot more nos than we bargained for, especially if they're OOT guests.

Sorry, but I agree with everyone else. FH wanted to cut people we sent STDs to and I was like no way. It *****, but I really think in this economy you will get more no's than you realize.
