Hey Ladies- sorrey this is so long, but i'm in distress! just needed some calm and helpful advise. FH and I are in the process of buying our first home together and both working full time (I work crazy hours at law firm, but extremely greatful for my job- I Love It!). I am finding it REALLY hard to make appointments especially since we currently live in GA, but we are both born and raised in NY. So naturally that's where our big day will be. I just continue to read everyone's checks for YOUR RH, Limos, Videographer/Photograher, etc. and I feel SOOOOOOO behind. Can it be done? I have a date of May 18, 2013. I would love to have the reception at the Chateau Briand and everything else I have no real ideas of who I want to use, but I know what I want. Please Give Advise Ladies and any information you may have that can help me feel less overwhelmed

Re: OMG!!! I haven't even started yet!
Do you have any friends or fam in NY that can maybe go on appts for u and give u there feedback?
Do tons of research online for possible vendors. Contact those u are interested in and explain to them that u are planning from out of state. U can ask all the questions u need over email or phone. U can even maybe skype with possible vendors.
If there were any vendors u wanted to book I am sure u they can mail u the contact and they will accept a check in the mail for deposits.
U still have time so dont stress. Just do ur research and figure out ur options and it will all fall into place.

You still have a year and a half to plan... don't worry/stress and compare yourself to us nutties that have checks already! I know a few girls that got engaged over the holidays and they are planning to get married Summer, 2012! I'd be stressing if I were them... but you're fine!

Yea take some deep breaths, and tackle one thing at a time. Just know that you have a lot of time,.... Right now all i booked was my venue lol. I see every one-two weeks tackle one vendor at a time. And enjoy the ride!!!

Crashing - You don't ahve to stress at all. You have plenty of time. There are so many great vendors out there - if one is booked, you will find another that you love. I planned my wedding in less than 10 months (Engaged just before Christmas and married in October) - you will be fine!

Thanks Jassy ( aka My birthday Twin ) My Mom lives on LI but ALL THE WAY in Medford. She has no problem going to some places for me, but she has 3 small kids (I know sounds weird since i'm soon to be 28. She's remarried and has wonderful 13, 11 and 9 year olds- my hearts) so I think email and phone will be my best bet. Great Idea- thanks!!!

Don't stress out....you have plenty of time.
Are you and FH planning a trip to NY anytime soon. Since you want your RH to be Chateau Briand, why don't you call them and see if they are hosting a Bridal Event? Come up when they are, so you can see all of the preferred vendors (DJs, Florist, Photographers, etc.) in one night. Then you can make phone appointments and take it from there.
My RH has a show on Jan 23rd, so FH and I are attending to see all of the vendors and we'll start making appointments from there.
Good luck with your planning!

Chateau Briand is beautiful! One of my favorite places. But don't worry you have plenty of time, but if you are set on that date I would call and see if it is still available.

Originally, we were planning a Fall 2012 wedding. I don't know how I could have handled that. I'm so happy I pushed it out a few months

Haha seriously! My fiance' wanted to get married this Spring (2012), there's nooo way I would have handled the stress of only a year engagement, especially since I chose not to do any planning for the first few months of our engagement!
