OMG!!! I just got scammed out of $700
So, I posted here a few times about looking for tickets for the lady gaga tickets for my friend's bday. Some ppl recommended craigslist, so I went on and found a few good deals. I emailed 1 of the people and he said he would send me an invoice through EBAY so that it was secure. I got the invoice from ebay, which looked just like the ones they send b/c I bought from them before. This person's paypal wasn't working so I had to send money through western union, which I have never done before. Long story short, I send the money, then I had to email back ebay to give them the confirmation. The guy emailed me this morning and said he called ebay and they never got the email. He says then he called ebay and they said the transaction was canceled and that it was sent back to my account. I get a weird feeling and logged into paypal and ebay and didn't see anything relating to this transaction. Then I look online at western union and see that the money was already picked up. I called ebay, paypal and western union and they all opened up a fraud investigation inquiry. I now have to go to the police station to file a report.
Then this a** has the nerve to email me later and say so when is the online transfer going to be ready. Right, like I'm going to send money twice without checking to see what happened with the first money I sent. I don't want to let him know that I am on to him, so I just reply, Well, I guess you're sending me the tickets since I see you already picked up the money. Please send me the confirmation.
If you actually read this entire thing, thanks for letting me vent. This is how many scammers are out there and I'm sure you girls probably think I'm stupid for falling for this and I agree with you, but everything seemed legitimate.
Never ever ever am I going to trust these emails. I will always call Ebay or Paypal before confirming payment to make sure it is really coming from them.
