OMG, i just tracked my cycle

and my period is due a day before the wedding. what am i supposed to do? i have NEVER been on the pill before and wondering if i can take it for only a month.

I would talk to your gyno about that. I am on the pill....and some months I get sick on certain days. Be careful with that. Make an appointment now if you can.

Ummm i think i would go to your doctor but i think you might have to take it more than 1 month. Not positive..

I don't think that starting the pill now will work since you have only 1.5 months before the wedding. Some people get side effects from using the pill. I don't think you have enough time to avoid getting AF. I would talk to your doctor just to see if they have any ideas. Good Luck!

I agree.

I am on the pill. The first 6 months that I was on it were absolutely miserable. I retained sooooo much water. Through the course of the day my pants would get tighter and tighter like I had gained ten pounds. The next morning I would wake up having to go to the bathroom REALLY bad and then it would start over. It ended at about 6 months.

I am very happy on it now though. I don't retain water anymore and I never break out.

Everyone's body is different and you really won't know how your body will react. A month and a half might not be enough time.

ETA: Talk to your gyno. Maybe s/he will have a suggestion.

I agree that you don't have enough time to start the pill to skip your cycle. I'm sure that with all the stress of the wedding your cycle will probably be a little off. Good luck!

i had a friend in high school who was able to manipulate her cycle with diet - i am going to attempt to track down that info as well...

I agree...don't start it now!!! It screws you up for a few months. I would talk to your gyno and see if there is anything that can be done. Good Luck!

When I started taking it, nothing got screwed up and I had no side effects. I think everyone is different.

Me neither, only changes for the good, if you know what I mean , less days, etc

Me too- but I did gain weight. The pill increases your appetite.

When I started taking it my skin broke out really bad, I gained weight and I had headaches. This lasted for a couple of months. I know it sucks having your period right before but I think it would be worse to deal with all the side effects of the pill.

When I started taking it I had no side effects. I didn't gain weight, my face cleared up. It didn't increase my appetite.

Like everyone has said, everyone is different. Talk to your Dr asap and see what they say.

There is a new pill that you only get your period 4 times a year. You might ask your doctor about that one.

It's true everybody is different. When I went on the pill, it took a couple of months for my body to get adjusted, and I was bleeding the week before I was supposed to get my period, so for like 3 months in a row I would have my period twice!
