OMG--I made my mother cry!

Apparently my mother did not know that I decided to honor her request (which she made only once) to walk down the aisle to Ave Maria. Some of you might remember that I posted a while ago asking whether this would be an appropriate song since we're not getting married in a church, which was the concern I expressed to her. Walking to Ave Maria has been a tradition in my mother's family--every woman has done it--but she only mentioned it the one time so I didn't know how much it meant to her.

Well, I mentioned it to her off-hand the other night and she got SO happy and started crying!! It was so cute! She said that she didn't want to impose her opinion on me and that's why she hadn't brought it up again, but I was like, 'Mom, if it's THAT important to you, you should let me know these kind of things.' So, I'm glad I was able to make her happy even if it was sort of unintentional

that is such an awesome moment. and i hope that when you look back at all the wedding planning, you forget the stress, and only remember moments like this!!!

It was just really weird because my mother and I have a very tempestuous relationship because we're both very opinionated and I can be very b!tchy--that's when the lawyer side of me comes out . So it was really nice for me to make her so happy.

I cry everytime I hear Ave Maria, it is a beautiful piece... it is so nice that you made your mom happy and be ready for tears in church on your wedding day
