I was at the gym and somehow I dropped a weight on it. Its my ring finger! Wedding is in 1 Month! Its swollen and really realy hurts like hell. it hurts a lot!!! My dad thinks I might have fractured it ( hes a retired fireman) Should I wait a few hours with ice on it and see what happens? dad wants me to get an xray.

I fractured my finger twice!! You should really go get an X-ray so if it or isn't it can be fixed hopefully in enough time!!

X-ray, the earlier you diagnose this injury the quicker the process for healing.

If it heals and it is fractured, they will have to do things like break it again to fix it..I would wait a few more hrs and if the pain does not substantially disappear go get an x-ray!

EXACTLY My officemate had that happen. She waited 3 days and they had to rebreak her finger and insert metal pins.
It's worth getting it Xrayed if no other reason than to eliminate the idea of that happening.
She fractured hers when she fell and landed on her hand instead of her face. That was all it took.

OMG karen get it xrayed NOW!!!!!!!! i am sure it will be healed by the wedding, but i would just play it safe and go to the doctor.!!!!!!!

Well after spending 2 1/2 hours in the ER I got to go home with a band-aid on my finger! I feel like such an ***!! No fracture no break just a tetna shot and a nasty cut. The nurse said I might loose my nail! Which is really sucky because its my ring finger and the wedding is in 1 month! They told me it will turn black and blue under the nail. At least I can get a tip put on to it. Thank you all for your help!

awww....at least you played it safe and went to the hospital. It could of been worse. Im glad you are ok....

I broke my finger in a softball game. Coach didn't have another pitcher so he convinced me it wasn't broken. Well, not it goes around corners and hurts when it rains. If it want it fixed they have to break it again.
