OMG I'm FREAKING OUT!!! placecard drama! update!! I got them!

Ok so I ordered my placecards about 2 weeks ago and the vendor shipped them out on Wednesday of last week........so she e-mailed me on Saturday b/c she wanted to check that I received them, so I e-mailed back and said not yet.......she e-mails me today and says 'please tell me you got them today I'm starting to panic....please confirm this is your address' blah blah blah............well guess what.........she sent them to MY OLD ADDRESS!!! I haven't lived there in 2 years!!!! Somehow she got my old one from paypal?? I don't know how this happened, but I guess its really her fault for not confirming the address.....but its weird b/c I also used them for church direction cards in June and that was sent to my current address.

Anyway, I went over to my old house, met the new people living there (which at least now I know that they're really nice!), and they didn't have my box! they think that its being re-routed to the sender since the forwarding service expired. the vendor already e-mailed saying she'd overnight a new set tomorrow morning, but I'm just freaking out b/c if she sends it out UPS or Fed Ex they don't always leave the packages w/o a signature and I have a lot of running around to do on Wednesday.......which includes picking up my dress, and I was supposed to be dropping everything off at the hall too......now I don't know if I can do that.....I didn't want to on Thursday, that's the rehearsal dinner!!!! this vendor has been so awesome, I wouldn't blame her, I think it was an honest mistake! sorry this is sooooooooooo long but I needed to vent since this is happening with 4 days to go!!!!!!!!!

****UPDATE!- FED EX woke me up bright and early this morning w/ my placecards!!! They are beautiful!!!!! there's 2 layers- bronze w/ a ivory shimmer as the top layer. K, now I have to get back to work!!

Also, try writing a letter authorizing the package to be left at your door and sign the note. It works for a lot of people!! You will get it all done...don't worry!!

And hey- at least your not me! My favors are all f#cked up and I can't send them back!!

OMG!! I'm so sorry Gabi!! what happened with your favors?? sorry if I missed a post about it, I've been so MIA lately! thanks for your advice!! I know it will all be ok, I just didn't want to have to worry about something like the placecards, I figured that was a no brainer! don't worry we'll both be having so much fun at our weddings this weekend, we won't even remember our missing placecards or favor problems!!

You didn't miss a post about it...I've been too pis$ed to write about it!! Basically, my mugs are fu&ked up [the printing] and the organza bags that I bought to put them in are too small!! I will be hitting the streets tomorrow to find a solution for the bags...and nothing can be done about the mugs...the writing is not centered and is too close to the handle!! I am sooo pissed!!

Helen, that is a good idea about the signed note on the door. You will get them, at least she is sending you new ones and not waiting for the old ones. I'm sure they will be there on time! Here's some for ya!

I'm so sorry!! you must be sooooo frustrated right now!! that's the last thing you need is more projects with a few days to go......you could try the place I ordered my organza bags from for the slipper baskets- they are so much cheaper through them than through a store, it might be worth it if you try overnight shipping- if you place your order tonight than perhaps you'd get them by Wednesday?? I've used two good websites for bags:

good luck w/ everything!! just think of all the guiness you'll be having soon!!! this will all be a distant memory!!

ETA- I just checked on Pouch Depot- it says that orders placed before 12 noon west coast time ship the same day with next day shipping! maybe it will work out!!

How about having the vendor ship them right to the RH?? This way it's one less thing for you to drop off..and someone should be there to receive the package....good luck!!!!

thanks!! yea the vendor offered to ship them there, but I'm just worried that then I'd have to make sure Douglaston gets them ok. I guess I just didn't want to add a potential new problem with someone missplacing them there!! gee......can ya tell I'm paranoid?? I guess that's what the last week of wedding madness does to you!!

If they don't get to you by Thursday, I will glady make you new ones! I'll start practicing my calligraphy now! It will all work out!

It will be fine. You'll get them tomorrow. I would ask someone to watch out for the package. Its so hard not to stress out, but you'll be fine.

Go to Wrap With Us in Syossett for the bags. Check their website www.wrapwithus.com and see if they have the appropriate size.
