omg i'm so pissed right now! long

i am soo sooo angry at my hairdresser right now! please girls tell me what your thoughts are on this. i almost had a nervous breakdown at the salon.

i booked my hairdresser who works at a salon in manhattan (the salon is pricey but not super extravagant) i booked her because she really is amazing with hair/color. when i first told her i wanted her to do my hair she said she charges $200 per hour for weddings. it was steep, yes, but i said ok. I figured the most it could be was $600 for me and 2 bridesmaids.

today i go in to have my color done. i ask her what she thinks the total would be, she breaks out with 'I get at least $1000 to travel to go to do weddings because i'm taking the day off and I have to travel there'.

I nearly lost it. WHY THE HELL DIDNT SHE SAY THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE??? am i crazy?? she asked what i thought i was going to pay i said around $600. she said she could do it for $800. I called fh in a state of fury and he said so be it; you cant go looking for a new hairdresser now. and its only $200 more than you were originally going to pay. I was going to have my girls pay only $50 each and i'd make up the difference. I agreed to the $800. Maybe its my fault for not clarifying when the $200 per hour started but damn if she knows she gets at least $1000 why not tell me at the first conversation?

How would you guys react one week before your wedding?

Yes, that is totally fustrating. I feel that she should have been more communicative when you brought the subject up. She knew that she would be traveling to your home. So she should have mentioned then 'Oh by the way, travel is extra' or something on those lines right, then, and there. I don't think she should waited a week before the wedding to tell you.

At this point be thankful that you have a hairdresser for the wedding and take this as lesson that not everyone thinks of mentioning the by the ways untill the last minute (even the last moment). I hope that I helped you out a little.

thanks; im trying not to let this ruin me today! i was doing so great with everything, not freaking out, no craziness and then this. i am grateful to have the hairdresser but she'll never work on this head again.

I hope other women on here read this and don't go through what I am.

I would be totally pissed too. Try not to let it get to you though. In the grand scheme of things, it's only a little more than what you wanted to spend.

i didnt even try to negotiate it; i was busy trying not to have a meltdown in the salon. i am so sick right now i want to scream! fh is trying to tell me to take it easy but i can't. im very wound up.

and on top of it all she did my highlights so blonde i feel like i have stripes on my head i'm going crazy!!!!!!!!!!!

I would check around and see if you could find someone else. Although, if you do and cancel her this late, she might not be willing to do your hair in future.

The sad thing is that right before the wedding you start spending money like crazy and saying 'what the hell, it's too late to worry about it.'

That is a CRAZy amount to spend on hair but like someone said above... it is too late now to even worry about it! Just close your eyes and pay her! Just enjoy your day! Lets pray for great weather....i'm getting married the same day as you!

So frustrating. That's not too bad, I guess. If you are really happy with her, I guess I would keep her.

I've been crying hysterical to fh and moh about this; moh agrees this woman did me dirty. I'm also pissed that she made my highlights so light and i have these stripes in my hair that i'm going to have to go back to mahnattan this week (yes the week of my wedding as if i didnt have enough to do) to get it fixed!!!

now its 5am, i'm exhausted can't get back to sleep. this woman has totally ruined me emotionally. i was doing great with the stress until her. i don't even want to see her the day of!! she has me so mad!!! i'm going to look at her and my aggravation will come flooding back. damn her. i don't want her to ruin my day but it looks like she's ruined my week!!!!
