OMG - It Finally Happened

WE FINALLY CLOSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

However, the process was a total nightmare!

We started with the walk-thru and the seller had not removed everything the way he was supposed to. Fortunately he showed up while we were inspecting and got out 90% of the stuff that he had left behind. DH told him he could stop at some point. MEN! Now there is stuff we will have to clean up that shouldn't be our responsibility. We also discovered that one of the couches was hiding a HUGE cut in the carpet, and that a shelf that was built into the wall was destroyed sometime in the last week.

As we were walking out, the bank called me. I have been keeping bank problems very close to the vest for the last several weeks so as not to upset those that I know are using the same bank. Suffice it to say I got ZERO satisfaction from the bank and I'm aggravated that I got backed into a corner and I'm stuck with them for the life of this mortgage.

So, here we go into the closing itself. My lawyer & the seller's lawyer clearly did not like one another. So much so that at one point I thought fists would start flying. The seller's attorney threatened to cancel the closing 3 different times. The checks that the bank showed up with were all wrong according the seller's attorney (which would be part of the reason he & my attorney almost got into the fist fight), so she had to leave with the certified checks, and go find a Citibank (the seller himself drove to the bank with the bank person following him so she didn't get lost) to deposit the check, and then use escrow account checks. It was horrible! Due to all this drama, together with my annoyance at the bank, I completely forgot to mention the problems we discovered at during the walk-thru at the table. And both my real estate agent and DH didn't mention it either.

DH & I are officially broke. We have a house with a kitchen table and a bed and no other furniture and no left over $$$ to get any. On a complete upnote . . . I should be the he11 our of my MIL's house by this time next month!!!!!!!!!

We're not all that thrilled w/ BofA either as you know. If it was up to me we would have researched other banks, but certain people were set w/ BofA.

So exciting!!!!!!!! Now the fun begins w/ moving!
