OMG! MORTGAGE TO TAKE OVER A MONTH LONGER THAN IT SHOULD!!!!

So our mortgage agent called this morning and said instead of an August 1st closing (which was in our contract) it is looking more like Sept 1st or mid-Sept! AHH!! We already put down the deposit, but I am so worried that the sellers will get impatient. AND we want in there! Nothing is going as it should.

Edited to say..Our contract date was June 1st and we closed July 8th.

Same thing happened to us, don't worry about it. The sellers will be patient, they don't want to start all over again and go through the same process with someone new. I was told that the date on the contract is just a estimate and it is usually 30 days after. Our date said Jan. 30th and we closed March 6th.

Look at it this way, you have more time to pack.

What reason did the bank give you on this? When did you fill out the application with the bank?

I know the feeling Beth...hang in there!!! anyway you could rent from the owners in the meantime so you could get in there???

I agree, hang in there. My closing date was supposed to be May 15th, we are still waiting to hear. There were problems on their end.

Thanks everybody for the support! The bank said they were just really backed up No real reason. I work at a university and they sent the employment verification to the general address, not to HR, so we just found out about that last week when we called to see how everything was going...I have a feeling they would never have called to tell us...I got HR to fax it back to them that day.
