OMG MY GOWN IS IN!!!

i am so excited, I'm just nervous for some reason..I can't believe it's here this soon. I ordered it a year and 4 months in advance.. But they told me it would take about 3 months.. So, I went ahead and ordered it.. well, its here, it only took 3 1/2 weeks.. I live in Georgia, how am I going to get my dress to NY to my moms house??? If I leave it here Fh said he will want to peak.. I'm just nervous, becuause it is so beautiful, I don't want something to happen to it, it's from Davids bridal and they can't store it for me.. i'll figure it out.. keep in the garmet bag wrapped in a white sheet and it should be fine, I'm hoping..

that's exactly why i cancelled my order. i was too nervous about having to keep it for so long.

Don't hang your dress, lay it flat. My sister stored hers under the spare bed. (on the floor under the bed, not under the mattress)

I just talked to my MOH and she is going to keep it at her house.. She'll take good care of it.. The way time has been flying it'll be fine.. I don't know why I am so nervous..LOL.. I am taking the dress on the plane to NY.. I think it'll be safer with me then if I ship it..

Just make sure she doesnt smoke or anyone in her house doesnt snoke, I read somehwere yesterday that if someone in the house smokes, the dress will absorb the odor suprisingly well.....just something to consider as well.

OMG neesiepie, she smokes.. Oh great.. I am so happy that you told me that because in my nervous state, I didnt even think of that.. I'm going to ask FH cousin if I can leave it there she lives near here.. I also wanted to get my alterations done here because the people are so nice here.. Thanks

Thanks for the tips neesiepie!!! JZNCK, maybe you can mail it to your mm now in NY but make sure your buy insurance on it so if God forbid something happens to it while be shipped, worse case scenerio you can receive $$ for damage.......

Thanks, I thought about mailing it as well. as long as I have insurance on it that should be fine.. I'll check it out. thanks for the help

What's the deal with the white sheet? I don't have one. Should I? I just have the thick white plastic garment bag that I paid an extra $10 for. I thought that would be good enough. Also, what's wrong with hanging? It has straps specifically for that purpose, right? I don't have anyplace flat I can leave it. A friend is being nice enough to let me keep it in her closet, but there is no place I could have it lying down. Will it get ruined?

Personally, I would be afraid that if I left it lying down somewhere in the house something would happen to it. I think it is better to keep it stored away in a garment bag, hanging up, preferably in a spare closet that isn't usually used.

Davids did tell me NOT to leave the dress anywhere near smoke ( i forgot).. The did however tell me that I could hang it up, the white sheet just covers it a little extra.. I'm sure Ill be looking at it Everyday anyway.. Thanks girls
