So what exactly is the deal with the snow this weekend? ??
I'm supposed to go bridesmaid dress shopping, and 10 out of my 11 bridesmaids can come (my sister can't b/c she's in school) and now they're all like 'obvi I can't come this weekend b/c of the snow.'
Um, is it snowing yet? Are the trains delayed already?
COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They act like they've never seen snow before! People can function in snow!

they shouldnt be cancelling yet....i mean i could understand them saying that they will see what happens...but why not wait and see if the snow is actually bad before automatically bailing?

Not to laugh, but I was supposed to do the same thing with my BMs on Saturday and I just canceled the appt! I had to reschedule for Feb. 27th b/c I'm busy the next few weekends!

For me, it's more of the mystery of what this storm is going to bring. They can't predict it well enough. I basically read just that on the National Weather Service website. The storm can go one of 2 ways either we are going to get like 3 inches or we are going to get SLAMMED.
I just cancelled something bc of it for tomorrow night. I hate driving in the snow on LI. The roads are always terrible.

She just sent me the Accu-weather blog that says over a foot of snow!
I don't think i can cancel b/c I literally made this appt MONTHS ago and it's really hard to resched with 11 people (+ moms) schedules!
I think I will just go w/ my MOH (we are both NYC-based) and pick one out and make them buy it?

Honestly, I'd go with the girls that can and want to go. I know how it is with getting appointments especially in city ESPECIALLY on weekends--which places are you going to? I'm just wedding shoe shopping around Chelsea, so if you need two BM dress models to take pictures for your lazy BMs, my MOH and I will help!

It's YOUR wedding. With that many girls I feel like you're just asking for trouble taking them all shopping. I know you probably want to all get together and have a good time and make a day of it... but really, you could save so much trouble by doing what you said yourself and taking your MOH (and maybe your mom) and picking something out and having everyone else go later to get measured. And that would still be doable this weekend. KISS philosophy, baby Ask everyone what price range they'd be okay with and shop within that range. JMO.
good luck though, I'm hoping fo ryou AND for me that the snow is not as bad as they're speculating, I have SO MUCH PLANNED this weekend!

Yeah, definitely! This appt was for my girls to get measured. When I picked the dress, I was with my sis (MOH) and 2 of my friends. In total, I have 7 BMs. I wasn't going with ALL of them.

Funny---we had a 1:30pm appt there this coming Saturday too but cancelled after deciding on Amsale dresses for her wedding at the Wedding Library last weekend....honestly Bella is a small place so you are better off with less people...that would be funny if we stopped by . My MOH doesn't know LIW so would be so weirded out...ha!

Supposedly they will tell me if they can come tomorrow when the snow starts. But they want to try the dress on before they buy.

I am sorry that they are canceling you - can you maybe go without them and pick out what you like and email it to them?! I had to do that because most of my bridesmaids are OOT.
