OMG! Today is the day for surprises

When FH & I got engaged my mother said I will give you 'X' amount. I immediately decided to use that for our HM and that FH & I would pay for the wedding itself (and the remainder of the HM)by ourselves.

At our e-party she gave us a check which was half of 'X' and I assumed at the wedding she would give us the other half, or that when it came time to pay for the HM she would just pay it and that would be that.

She just told me that the e-party gift was just that - and e-party gift and does NOT represent half of 'X'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
