OMG: Why are these dresses cut so darn SMALL??

SO, I went with my BM today to get them fitted for their dresses. I decided to go with Jim Hjelm dresses. Anyways, 2 or my girls were 'measured' as a size 18 and 20, and had to pay more $$ ($20 extra for the 18 and $40 for the 20). I felt bad because my best friend who lost so much weight last year and must be a size 12 (maybe 14 at the most) was the one who got measured as a size 20. I know she felt bad, but I had to tell her that the dresses are cut small. I think for Jim Hjelm that if they are measured over a size 14 (which is really like a size 8 for an normal person) they have to pay extra.

Sorry, just had to vent.. I really have to get my BM nice gifts...

someone should really speak to the wedding industry - WHY do the dresses have to be up to 2X yr normal size !!!

dont we as brides have enought to deal with??

we got JH for my friends wedding a couple years ago-- some of us- reg size 6's had dresses in a size 12 and 14-- that didn't feel too good either.. although when we got the dresses- we were both swimming in them-- their size chart is f*cked up if you ask me!

Agreed! My BMs are wearing JH also and I truly believe his chart is based on runway models. My 19 year old cousin who is a size 0 had to order an 8! What the hell is that?!?! And my sister who has busted her butt losing weight still had to order the 14 and she felt terrible about it. It sucks. But, his dresses are beautiful and I keep telling them that they'll have to get taken in so it's fine.
