Re: On a lighter note - girls in contract!!!
I know!!!! Congrats to all of you!
FH and I are planning on buying in the fall of 2009, a year after we are married. We're saving with that goal in mind. As much as I want the economy to improve, I hope housing prices don't rise too much between now and then! If I could buy now I totally would, it's the BEST time for that ... I just am not ready yet.
But KUDOS to all of you who are. SO amazing, isn't it, that we are getting married, buying houses ... we're all grown up now, girls. NO TURNING BACK!!!!! (Even though we want to sometimes .... )

That was the second thing we did after we walked into the house for the first time. THere were HUGE bushes side by side in the yard and we couldn't wait to attack them. There were also smaller ones around and silly me thought taking them all out would be an easy task. We cut, chopped, ripped, pulled, tied and carried bushes for about 8 hours!!! It was so tiring to do it all, but we just wanted them out!!! It was a good workout though lol

The greatest feeling is the first time you walk in, using your own key. We felt like we were trespassing and couldn't believe this three-story home was ours! Even today when we go there to work, I look around and get all emotional!

Thankfully FH used to landscape so he can remove them!

Re: On a lighter note - girls in contract!!!
That is so funny, that was the first thing we did too, we had 8 Giant Oak trees on the property, plus tons of huge shrubs, i think we got a good deal of about 4k for a full land clear and all those trees down.
The neighbors were actually really happy because the leaves and acorns would go on their property so they were happy and it made the house look bigger.

Re: On a lighter note - girls in contract!!!
We have a big tree behind our back fence that is on the property of the people behind us. It grows some strange, green fruit on it that smells strange when it falls and begins to dry. I wonder what kind of fruit it is We thought about asking them to remove it, with our help of course, but then we'd have no trees whatsover blocking the sun. Now, we have about 95% of clear skies around us.....I think 5% of help wouldn't be bad lol

Re: On a lighter note - girls in contract!!!
We have a big tree in the backyard which I want to keep for shade and a small one in the front, but it's next to the street and I like it there. Everything else is bushes lining the backyard. There's so much yard that's wasted!
