I was just talking toa friend and I told her how I just got in from shoveling. She seemed a little surprised that I was shoveling. She thinks its hard. I said that you can't pick up a lot of snow at a time. She even asked if fh helped with the shoveling. I told her he did some last night and I did some while he was sleeping. Do you ladies mind shoveling hard. I think its easy.

Re: ? on shoveling
i think this snow made it easier cause its nice and powdery and light....pj had to shovel a path to the wood pile outside first thing this morning...he said it was easily 2 ft deep so even though it was light, it got heavy after 1 hour of shoveling

Re: ? on shoveling
I always help! When I lived with my mom (up until last winter) I used to shovel her whole driveway MYSELF! and then I would go acroos the street to my grandparents to do theirs. I would rather have a sore back then have my 70 year old grandfather have a heart attack from doing it. Now that I have Rays help it is a lot easier. Today he did the front and I did the back (for Gizmo) and the side entrance to the apartment.

Re: ? on shoveling
I live with my grandmother so I do much of the shoveling by myself. My uncle comes over and helps out, and my FH helps if he is at my house (he lives in suffolk, I live in Queens).
I have a really long driveway and walkway (about 6 car lengths), so it was very time consuming, but I would agree that it wasn't so difficult because the snow is so light. BUT its annoying because it kept blowing in my face!

Re: ? on shoveling
i never used to help b/c my grandfather had a snow blower, as did my stepdad and my fil, so they would do it alone in 30 minutes and with little effort. but yesterday, i was out there 4 times, shoveling the walkway and brushing off the cars every hour while dh did it several times after me, so we never let it pile up. and that i think is the key. we go out ever hour/hourand a half and PUSH the snow!!! whole lot easier than waiting until it is done and shoveling. that was our trick. plus, if we didn't go out frequently to do it, we would have no way of getting out the door.

I hate it I have no tolerance for the cold but except for this year I always help. But DH is happy now because we have a snow blower!

Re: ? on shoveling
I don't mind shoveling at all and I've always helped. I think it's good exercise too. Of course... this time I can't help DH! I was going to... I really don't think it's a big deal, but he bugged out and said NO WAY!
