i would be sooo careful with this vacination. it came out so fast that it's not even 100%.

look into it more before you decide

i am going to mexico too but no way am I getting the vaccination. My mom (whos a nurse) and I was talking and we both agreed that this came out too fast and that the officials are not aware of all the potential side effects yet. My uncle got the original swine flu vaccine in the 70s and got Guillain-Barre. He was really sick and hospitalized

I wouldn't get it. I've never gotten the flu vaccine and don't intend to get it this year, nor do I intend to get the H1N1 (swine flu) vaccine.

I got the flu about 5 years ago and YES, it was terrible and I was very much out of commission for a week (and lived alone, so that was rough, asking people for help; I hate doing that) however...I would much rather deal with the effects of the flu again in the present day than perhaps deal with side effects way down the line.

My mom is a nurse and she advised me not to get it. I trust that my mom - and not the government or media - has my best interests in mind.

i would NEVER get anything that hasnt been tested and was rushed out becuase of some media paranoia. Please read up on this before getting the vaccine.

I refuse to even get the regular flu shot as well.

ITA with the other girls...I wouldn't get it. Neither FH or I will be getting it and we will not be taking FSD to get it either.

I never get the regular flu shot and I've had the flu twice in my entire life. Like Kris said, I'd rather get the flu than risk some crazy side effects I can't anticipate.

Also, the H1N1 vaccine is given through a shot to the INSIDE of your nose....freakin CREEPY *shudder*

That's right! I forgot about that. Just thinking about it makes my right eye tear up a little...that must be painful! Blech blech blech. No thank you.

with the new swine flu vaccination, id be careful. its still new, so maybe there are side effects to it?? idk.... just be careful with whatever you decide to do, but personally i wouldnt take the shot.

I would def. steer clear of it. You're safer not getting it.

Re: on the subject of swine flu...

you should stand clear of that vaccination. its my opinion that many of the vaccinations out there today cause more harm then good.

like the meningitis one that colleges try to force on everyone. i refused to get it & advised everyone i know not to get it. luckily because some people died after getting it.

the most important thing to remember is to wash your hands regularly. when your not within distance of a sink & soap then use some anti-bacterial then wash your hand when you can.

I wouldn't. I agree with everyone else. They came up with and produced that vaccine way to quickly.

I think you will be fine. If you start to feel sick while you are there. Go to your hotel info desk first. Most hotels have an infirmary. I was in Acapulco for spring break and my friend got strep while there. We went to the doctor in the hotel. They told her she could take penicillin for 7 days and not drink at all and feel like crap or get a shot in her arse once and feel better in 2 days without drinking for 2 days... she chose the latter of the 2

i agree also. i work at a pharmacy and so many people come in asking if we have the h1n1 shot , and we don't, but the pharmacist always tells me that it takes a few years for something to be out on the market for it to be approved as good. this shot came out rushed because everyone was asking for it.

I soooo agree with Alyssa...The Vaccine is so new. I would deff check with my Primary doctor first and see what he or she says.
I myself had the regular flu shot but have decided against the H1N1 vaccine for myself and my daughter until a few months in (that's if they are still even avaiable!). I just don't wanna chance it!
But like I said, check with your personal Doc to see what's best for you
