On the topic of Rehearsal Dinners...MORE questions SORRY

We know WHERE people are having theirs - but can you girls give me an idea of

1) How much you are paying per person
2) does that include alcohol? -
3)did you do beer, wine and soda - or open bar -
4)what did you spend for the alcohol (i.e. 10 per person or what?)
5) did you have a private room - or how did they set you up
6) how many people are you inviting or did you have

Sorry for all the questions I'm starting to look into this and am trying to get a feel of what I'm dealing with

Hey Christine,

We are having the bridal party, their spouses and our parents.

$34.95 a person, includes beer, wine or soda. They can have the other alcohol at home!!

We are not in a private room. It is a small restaurant. We are in a raised segregated section though. Total I think we are having is 22!

Hope that helps!

Thank you I was just about to call them! - do you know what you are getting for that - app (what kind), salad, entrees (what kind) and dessert? or something else? FH and I enjoy going to brunch there.

We are having about 20 adults 2 kids, and are paying $12.15 pp plus tax and gratuity, so around 15 something a person.

We're having a very early dinner, 3pm, and not having alcohol since most people coming don't drink. So, it includes (everything is all you can eat, served family style in a private area either inside or out depending on the weather):

Caesar salad, 3 types of pasta dishes, bread and dipping sauce, a cake, coffee, tea and unlimited soda.

Christine: I left the menu at my parent's house over the weekend but from what I recall the price included unlimited wine, beer, soda, Appetizer, Salad (Garden or Caeser), Main Course (3 choices i.e. we chose b/w Duck, Steak, Fish or Chicken) and Specialty Cake OR Ice Cream. We are getting the cake.

PS - We got their larger room for the RD but they have smaller rooms with a smaller guarantee amounts.

Thank you!!!!!! I think I will have between 40-60 but FH and I are paying for it alone - FFIL is not offering a dime towards the wedding (I think b/c they are getting remarried FOR THE 21 ANNIVERSARY - CHURCH RECEPTION AND ALL 4 DAYS AFTER OUR WEDDING - we think this is why he refuses to invite ANYONE to our wedding) and since my parents are paying for the wedding itself they are being traditional and insisting on his family paying for whatever they traditionally do (basically the rehearsal dinner, rings, honeymoon) - so FH and I are going to be paying for those things ourselves - and since I'm taking the bar 2 months before the wedding, and will be moving to join FH (who is law school now) our funds will be limited - so that sounds reasonable - we are trying to stay around 50 or less per person.

For those of you getting married on Saturday, were you able to get a Friday night rehearsal? I don't want to have to drag everyone into town for a Thursday rehearsal - hoping for Friday.

Amyt324 - we're getting married on a saturday and having out rehersal on thursday - the only day possible....which lands on April Fool's Day. Friday wasn't an option because we're having the ceremony at the Watermill as well as the reception and they're probably booked the night before.

We're having about 35 people at the rehearsal dinner at Seventh Street Cafe in Garden City and are paying $40 a head for dinner plus unlimited beer, wine & soda. I scheduled it for the night before, (Friday), but at this point we can't even schedule the actual rehearsal, because the church hasn't assigned up a priest yet. One of my mom's friends assured me that the church does rehearsals on Fridays, but I'll worry about that after we get a priest.

Jeez Christine! And I thought I was busy!! I wish you best of luck on the bar - god I never want to relive that again but once it's over, it's worht it!
I would also check out Main Maid Inn which wanted less pp (I think around $25-30) and also the George Washtington Manor in Roslyn which also wanted around $35-40 pp. You can definitely find something in your budget!

RedNY do you have the downstairs room? My parents looked into it for our engagement party - but the bigger room which they call private isn't really private they found - it is off of the main room but kind of open to the main dining room- but I'm checking them out too - I had my HS graduation party there and they were great to work with

To be honest, I don't know which room we'll have. I know the room you're talking about off to the side of the dining room, and while it isn't really private, I'm sure it'll be fine.
