On the verge of tears...

On the verge of tears...

So I went to Lilettes this Saturday. What an amazing experience...Much better than I had at Kleinfleds. I worked with Lydia and she was amazinggg....So I tried on about 10 gowns.

The last one I tried on was by Sophia Tolli and it was called Liv..Beautiful dress and I 'thought' it was 'the one'. But when I left I started to have second thoughts. I shouldn't have second thoughts if it was the one right!!?? I even put $100 down. When I walked out my mom said thats it, thats the one and she started to cry. I think all of the hype maybe put some pressure on me?!! I don't know and now I'm totally confused and still looking at dresses online that I completely love. Don't get me wrong the dress is beautiful but I think I pictured something so differently!! WHAT DO I DO!? I thought this was suppose to be fun

Also has anyone ever heard of the designer Enzoani? I love their dresses and would maybe like to try some on. Do you girls know anyone who carries them?

Sorry for the longggggg *** vent. I'm just really loosing it!!!

Honestly, I think you'll always second guess yourself. It's part of the territory of making such a huge decision.

Why not go back an try it on again and see what you think the second time around?

Awe, it'll all work out in the end. If you're having second thoughts and still looking at dresses, then it's probably not the right dress for you!

Is the $100 refundable?

I don't know I made another appointment for next Saturday. They are going to think I'm nuts!!

Your deposit might not be refundable but they may let you put it toward a different dress.

I agreee with the OP go back and try it on again and maybe a few others just to see if you get the same feeling

Re: On the verge of tears...

i did the exact same thing!

i ordered a dress the first day i went shopping and then all night and the next day i had serious doubts and was really upset. we called and cancelled the dress (we had put 50% down) but luckily only lost $150 cancellation fee. I figured i would cancel it and then go try more dresses on...and even if i went back to that original dress it would be worth it to know that i made the right choice....i did end up finding a new gown that i love even more!

You are not nuts! Don't get yourself worked up I think this is a normal feeling. I have second guessed my dress so many times. I ordered my dress in July and still look at other dresses and watch say yes to the dress. At the end of the day I know I made the right choice with my dress. Doubt your choice is a natural feeling because of all the dress hype, this is it and or you may find something else better. You only put a $100 down so if you find something else you fall in love with it is not a huge loss. Take a day or two to clear your head then make additional appointments if necessary.

I have second guessed my dress numerous times (every time I watch Say Yes to the Dress). I think its normal. If you are really 2nd guessing your dress, go back and try it on again. Maybe this time without your mom and any pressure. if you are still not happy see if they can put the $100 towards a different dress. I would do it soon before they ordered it though. You may not get your money back if it is already ordered.

I went there on Sat too and had a great experience. I tried on an enzoani at lilettes. It was the one on the manequin when you walked in and it was beautiful. Just not the one. I also tired on a sophia tolli and that was beautiful too. Go back and try on the dress again! You might love it more.

I just put down a deposit for my dress.. It's by Enzoani blue line..
RK Bridal in manhattan has the line, they have tons of dresses by enzoani.
Good luck, and you shouldn't second guess your dress.. you should Love it.. and if you don't Love it then keep looking..you'll eventually find the one that fits you perfectly and makes you feel beautiful.

Re: On the verge of tears...

aww dont worry!!!

its just such a huge decision that i think you just always second guess at first because there are soo omany dresses to choose from. but whats right for one person, may not be for another and what looks amazing online or in a catalog may not be right for you.

trust me, i had two gowns saved to my computer from 2006 (a couple friends got engaged/married and they were sending me dresses, so i just looked and saved what i loved just in case i ever got engaged) (we got engaged this past February) when i put the LOVE OF MY LIFE ON i couldnt believe i HATED it on me!! such a beautiful gown and i hated it. i was SO unbelievably dissapointed. but then i found the one and i love it.

so try on a few more, of the styles that you think you want, and see how they look on you. and make you decision from there!!!

Ditto! Second thoughts are completely normal. I've had plenty of them!

I think you should go back ASAP and try the dress on again alone and see how you feel in it.

If you're still unhappy see if you can cancel the order- you might be out $100 but that's very little compared to being unhappy with your dress the day of.

Anywho, I'm an Enzoani bride! I purchased mine at Paradise Bridal in Patchogue! HTH!

Give it some time to sink in. sometimes the more you think about it you come back to being sure about it. There are just so many options out there it's hard to pick just one!
