one day precana

Hello
I called the rockville dioceses and they are sending me information about the 'over the weekend' precana.

When i mentioned to the woman she said that they do not do one day precanas?

Does anyone know how many hours a day the weekend precana is for? HOw much?

We are doing our weekend pre-cana in Oceanside (St. Anthony's) which is part of the RVC dioceses. I think it is from 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm Friday night and from either 9:00 or 10:00 am to 4:00 pm Saturday (I think).

FH is actually in charge of precana, but this is what I know about it.

Before precana you must complete a FOCUS test. This will take two days (one day for the test, another for evaluation). After that, you can complete the precana weekend. There are several options. One is an actual retreat which takes the entire weekend (you sleepover). The second choice (the one I am sure you are referring to) varies in length depending on the day and place you take it at. Most go 10 - 4 Saturday and Sunday. I am sure it costs a pretty penny. Luckily, we got it as a engagement present from my FILs. You can either call them up or fill out the form online and send it in.

Pre Cana really varies from parish to parish. You should call your church and find out.

We are doing it at St. Barnabas in Bellmore and they offer weekend long Pre Cana classes. Their office is open until 9pm and you can pick up an application and info there.

The one through the diosese of RC is sat and sun both 9-3 .

we did the FOCUS 2 weekends ago and got our results this past sunday...

we're doing our pre-cana at my church in Great Neck- St Aloysius, which is a part of RVC dioceses. it's a one-day session offered on March 3rd. i believe it starts sometime in the morning and it finishes off with everyone going to 5:00pm mass.

We did pre-cana at St. Patricks church in Bay Shore. Saturday 9:30-3:30 Sunday 8:30-12:30. We took the FOCUS test 2 weeks after we attended pre-cana. The fee was included in our ceremony donation so I'm not sure about that.

Hello

I just spoke to the RVC diocese today and she said that she will send the papers to me.

The FOCUS test people talk about, some took it before while others took it after precana. Does your church give it or the precana place?

I hope they offer the one day class again. We still have a lot of time before our wedding which is Jan 08. Maybe the info i get will have about the next 1 day precana.

I am doing one day pre cana at Our Lady of Lourdes in Mass. and its free. They offer it once a month on a Saturday.

i'm doing that in april! its 9-3 saturday and sunday. and its costs $250. or u can do the sleepover at the seminary and i believe thats $350.

FH and I are doing precana this weekend at our lady of Lourdes in Massapequa......the course is from 830am to 6pm only and is completely FREE!!

The Diocese itself does not offer 1-day pre-Cana, but many parishes do. Some of them only offer it for parishioners, but it can't hurt to call and ask.

Yup, FH and I are going to that one, but that's where we are getting married.

It's worth calling to see if you can take it even if you're not getting married there.
