One favor per couple- Best way to distribute??

One favor per couple- Best way to distribute??

So I know this may be faux pas but my favors are pretty expensive so I'm only giving one per couple or single guest.
Anyone have ideas on how to best distribute the favors without too much drama.
I thought about making the favors the placecards but then I heard that its annoying for guests to carry around.
Also- what's your experience with people taking more than one favor when you pre-set them on the table. My fiance and I are really concerned with folks trying to take more than one because they are so nice.

Ideas please! Thanks!

I thought it was standard to only do one favor per couple/ single person. Thats all im planning bc mine are expensive too... please tell me this is ok!

Once you have a confirmed guestlist (like a week before wed) You could tag them with each person/couple's name and then your DOC or whomever is in charge can hand out to everyone

Whenever I've gone to an event at which the favors were already on the table, the issue wasn't that people took more than 1, but rather that a lot of guests forgot tot ake theirs at the end of the evening!

At most Greek weddings that I've gone to, the bride & groom usually hand out the favors individually to the guests as they say goodbye. It's a bit tiresome and takes away the bride & groom from the dancing, but it works.

yeah I was planning on giving my favors out that way too--waiting until someone says goodbye. It worked for my koumbara, so I think that's the way I'm gonna do it too.

Also, I think it's pretty standard that it's one per invitation.

FH and I had this SAME discussion this afternoon. Our favors are expencive too and he suggested against the place card idea.

Thank you for posting this. I hope we get some good ideas!

that's kinda what my hall did, except they put out the favors right before the cake was cut. the only part that stunk was that a few people, who lived far away, left before the cake cutting, so they didn't get their favors. but overall, this worked out really well for us and it made it so we didn't have to tag everything with people's names!

Favor tags. We did one per couple and had no problems. We had a table set up with our favors and every favor had a tag.

You can also put them on the table with tags on them, but then it kind of looks like you assigned seats at the table, unless they're all in the middle.

At a wedding I went to this weekend someone from the hall stood by the favor table as the guests left saying...'ladies please take a box...ladies please take a box...'. I thought it was strange-but if you think about it-most people do come as a couple and most guys don't care as much about the favor as we do. And it worked-all the ladies took a box!

I have a table being setup in the reception hall that will have them on it and then a sign stating one per couple.

But I am doing a kinda goodie bag so I can't get it on the table. If you can fit it on the table then just put one inbetween each setting with a small sign on the table or even a extra seating card stating one per couple.

I'm going to place the favors on the table. It should be assumed that it will be one per couple or one per family. I don't really like the idea of placing their names on it because they might think the favors are different for different guests. No name gives it a uniform feeling. Unfortunately, you are going to have the greedy people who take more then one favor, but you can't really control that. I think the favors look pretty on the table, especially if they work with the color-theme foe the wedding.

I'm still gonna have mine on the table, to bring about the colorful elegance to the setting.

thanks for all the responses!

First of all- I had no idea that one per couple was the norm. My mother in law thought that each person gets one- but hey I'm paying so what LIW says goes!

Secondly- I think I will go with the name tags. However I may have the hall pass them out like right before dinner ends. My hall puts so much on the table that I am not sure there will be room for my favor BAG!

thanks again- as always everyone is so awesomely helpful

Once you have done your table numbers (the number of people at each table) go thru and figure out how many favors go to that table

example:10 people/5 couples= 5 favors. When you drop all of your things off at the RH give them the table list (with the amount of people) and the amount of favors. They will place htem around the table. This is how it was done at my wedding and it worked just fine.
