one garter or two

one garter or two

I have been looking at garters and some come as a pair with a 'tossing' garter. is this really nessicary? or is the tradition that the garter you 'toss' you dont get back? or is it just for keepsake purposes and the 2nd never makes it to the reception. Im so confused.

I'd keep one garter (because I'm a sentimental sap) but toss the other one. No, you usually don't get it back.

I wore both garters... the one that I like went on first, then i put the tossing one on, that way when DH went to grab it, he removed the tossing one first...

I wore both- the pretty sentimental one that I wanted to keep and is now in a shadow box with other items... and the blue throw away garter-that I tossed and the catcher kept

I saw a set I like with 2 garters....like the prior posts I'll put the one I want to keep up higher and the one to toss lower so FH know which one to remove.

the tossing garter is normally kept by the lucky guy who caught it so the original on is yours to keep as a momento

I am keeping one and tossing another. but it is just because I love the one my mom bought me and don't want to give it to someone else.

I wore my mom's garter (sentimental) and a 'tossing' garter that I bought off e-bay which had little handcuffs on it (dh is a cop).

I wore two...one was my mothers and one I had made with my DH's bands' logo...didn't toss either but both had meaning for me...

I wore two, so I could keep one. Oddly enough, they gave me the toss garter back. I said thank you and moved on.

I wore 2, one on each leg and I told DH to pick one while he was down there!! They were both cheapies that I'd gotten for free from bridal shows so I didn't care which he tossed. Now he's kept the other as a 'souvenir' and it'll go in a shadow box with some other wedding things.
