As a member of the bridal party would you expect to pitch in for a gift with the rest of the bridesmaids in addition to paying for the shower?

Re: One more shower question
if the whole bridal party was getting one big gift, I would think so. It may be better to get separate gifts though

Re: One more shower question
I think it depends on many different things...is there a big ticket gift on her registry? (or you could alwasy buy her place settings) also...where are the other BMs financially...some may be 'poor' and need a smaller gift...you may be doing very well and want to go all out...
but if all the BMs were going in...I would want to as well...and then probably get a small gift on the side...special to the bride (ie...my cousin had my invite framed)

Re: One more shower question
when I threw my sisters bridal shower, I asked the girls for a small amount...there were 10 of us and I asked each one of them for $100..I covered the rest of the shower costs. My sister and BIL wanted a camera so I asked the bridal party if they wanted to get them that. They all agreed and said they would chip in another $50 for the gift. Well I got the whole thing with film for $35 each girl. I did not partcipate in the gift because I was paying for the rest of the shower and I already had tons of little gifts for my sis. It worked out really well, the girls got off relatively cheap, my sister had a wonderful shower and got a REALLY great gift from the bridal party!!
