One more thing, dancing...

We took dancing lessons at Arthur Murray in Merrick. Our teacher was Denise. Our dance came out fabulous and we were much more confident with our other dancing at the wedding as well. We have gotten a lot of compliments on our first dance. If you are nervous about dancing, it may be worth the money! It was for us and we had a great time taking lessons together!

About how much did it cost? Did you have the option to only work on a first dance? I have 15 years of experience in dance, is it worth it? Do they have flexible times for lessons? Could they do something different like tango?

I know this post wasn't to me but just wanted to let you know about our dance instructor. She specializes in helping to choreograph your first dance together and she also teaches all dances. Her name is Marianne and she is in Massapequa. Her number is 516-223-8131.

We also took ballroom dance lessons with the Maddelenas out of the Oceanside School District's adult ed program. We had a private lesson with them to choreograph our first dance. It's been really helpful, I can dance, but my Fiance has two left feet! The 6 week course was $30 per person. I know they do private and group lessons as well. Great couple, they're alot of fun.

It was close to $600 for 6 private lessons, 5 group lessons and 5 parties, plus an intro lesson. We did not only work on the first dance, but I am sure you could. We did many of the latin dances, swing, hustle and fox trot. It is amazing how much you can learn in a private lesson. The intro lesson is short, but free, and there is no obligation, though they do try to sell the lessons pretty hard at the intro lesson.
