One more time - dress still doesn't fit!!! Long!

Ok so just for the record, David's Bridal in Lake Grove is getting quite a nasty letter when I am all done with this wedding!

Went there AGAIN for what was supposed to be my final fitting (mind you this was my 3rd 'final' fitting). I had gone there on Monday during my lunch hour to have them fix the bustle to be a little higher. They knew I was coming Thursday and they were supposed to have let it out more, have the bustle fixed, AND clean the 2 little stains on the breast area.

The ONLY part that was done was the bustle (and it does look really nice I will say). The stains were still there, and although he SWORE to me that he did let it out, I STILL couldn't take a deep breath! I absolutely flipped out. Now, if you know me at all, I am THE most passive person there is! I don't get b!tchy or give attitudes, esp to strangers. So for ME to flip on this guy, you know it had to be bad!

He measures my chest again and then compares it to the paper w/ my measurements - yeah, turns out theres a 1.5 inch difference! Would've been nice if he'd checked this a month ago! So he tells me to take the dress off again so he can see if there is room to let it out anymore. I said to him, 'And what if there isn't? My wedding is a week from tomorrow - its not like you're going to order me another dress at this point!' He didn't know what to say. My mom handed him the dress and also told him to remove the cups. I have come to realize that its the cups in the dress that I really don't like. The first 2 times I tried on the dress, there were no cups and I LOVED it so much more. So, we took them out. I felt more comfy in it, but it was still too tight. He is SWEARING to me that there is enough room for him to let it out and that it will be ready by Monday, when I go on my lunch hour. Oh yeah, and he has to remember to remove those stains, too!

Keep your fingers crossed, girls! I am about ready to murder the man!!!

Sandy, I wish I knew! The guy was telling me they are marks from where they pinned the cups in, that the pins were rusty (and that IS what they look like but still!!!). They'd better come out!!!

I am so sorry you are dealing with this. This is why I didn't get my alterations done there. I bought my dress there and had no issues, but I knew if I had gotten the alterations done there it would have been. I'm sure they will have everything fixed for you by Monday. Keeping my fingers crossed!!!

I wish I had known not to do my alterations there! Figures - the one thing I DON'T ask my fellow 08 brides about LOL!

WOW thats terrible!!! If he doesnt get them out all the way, try white chalk or the Tide pen.

You should send the letter to DB corporate.

I bought my dress there too but opted to have an outside seamstress do the alterations.

Rusty pins? Are you fvcking kidding me? Doesn't happen. Certainly not in a store that's less than 3 years old. I have pins that are 10 years old.

LOL yeah well thats what he is telling me so who knows. The stains are rust-colored and very tiny so it seems believable b/c I don't know what else it would be... maybe they were drinking coffee while they were doing my dress

What the hell are they doing using RUSTY PINS on your dress?????

I thank my lucky stars every day that I took my dress home when it came in and am not going there for alterations.

So sorry you are going through this Marisa. If they do not have it fixed on Monday, take it back and take it somewhere else to do the final alterations. I am sure a private seamstress can have it ready by next Saturday. And demand money back from David's.

Marisa, since they seem to FORGET what needs to be done on your dress, maybe you can call tomorrow and make sure they have everything they need to do written down??? stains, let it out?????

Yeah I will probably call Sunday b/c the guy I have been dealing with is not there tomorrow. He is the only one who even speaks (a little) English!

Honestly, I would go there and take your dress elsewhere..... They haven't gotten it right the first 50 times, I doubt they'll get it right this time. Good luck!
