One of my BMs asked me the most ridiculous question
She emailed me about going to Turkey at the end of October for two weeks. What??? You're in my bridal party - you KNOW what I have to do and pay for in the coming months!!

lol- people can lose sight of things sometimes and forget how much our lives are actually changing- it's more than just having a wedding!!!
my friend, who is actually in Iraq right now, gets two weeks off in September. she doesn't want to come home to the states so she asked me to meet her in France!! (she was born there) Normally, I would have jumped at the chance...just NOT THIS YEAR!
honestly, I wish I could go given the circumstances...but fh would if i told him I was jaunting off to Paris for a week

I agree... People don't think and if they're not planning a wedding or have never planned a wedding they have no idea just how much it can cost!!
Don't feel bad though, at least they didn't book the trip during your wedding like 2 of my brother's GM did!! Needless to say, he asked them to step down!

You're totally right! It's more than just having a wedding. I do feel badly because she has been my travel buddy. She's one of the few single friends that I have left and I don't want to her to think that I don't want to spend time with her - but when I saw the dates (and the price!), I couldn't believe that she thought I could swing it!

Definitely - it's not like they can say that they didn't know the date!

Well it's nice that she asked you and didn't just assume you wouldn't be able to go!!
But people just don't realize exactly how much $$ we're spending here, how things like 2 weeks in Turkey just aren't on the list of necessities right now.

I agree... I would rather be asked even if they know my answer would be no, rather than not be asked at all jsut becuase she would assume I would say no....
