My dad just called to tell me that my mom is in the hospital.
They went to the ER last night and they are admitting her.

Without getting too personal, she has a long list of serious health conditions including diabetes and has had a heart attack.

She went to the ER because of a diabetic complication, but they are keeping her there because she got woozy and dizzy and her heart rate is abnormal.

My mom spends a lot of time in the hospital... but getting the phone call that she's there never gets easier.

Sorry to be a downer... I just needed to 'talk'

Small update at the bottom of the thread

*UPDATE*-Monday Night
They moved my mom out of the unit she was in. She no longer needs 24/7 heart monitering which is a step in the right direction.
She will probably be there for a few days because her foot (the reason she went there in the first place) is not healing the way they would like.
She is on IV antibiotics.

She sounded much better on the phone today.

I'm sorry to hear about your mom. I know how hard it is when a parent is sick, as my father has been hospitalized often as well. I'll keep your family in my thoughts, and if you need to talk to someone who's been there, I'm here.

hang in there....and vent with us anytime you need to....it is so hard to see a parent so ill, especially during a time that she and you should be happy and giddy sharing in the wedding planning process....keep your head up....she will get better and you will be coming back on here to rant about her soon enough

it really feels like that sometimes... the whole not getting a break thing.

When I was little I used to think (god knows why) that gypsies wore bandanas and big hoop earrings. Since your'e a gypsy, you should go w/this look. It will bring you luck. Then again, I've had 3 glasses of wine tonite,s o what do I know?
