I'm meeting with a few photographers this week and I don't know if its worth the money to add a second photographer to packages that only include one. I like the idea of 2 because you can obviously get a ton more shots and different angles of the same picture, but with a tight budget I'm not sure that its something I need to have. Any thoughts or opinions would be helpful!

Two all the way- FH's mom was a photographer and she said that you need the two photographers. The main photographer takes pics of you and your FH throughout the day and usually orchestrates the posed photos, while the 2nd one usually gets more of the editorial type/candid shots and the cute photos of the wedding dress on the hanger, the rings, and all of those artsy type photos. The 2nd guy usually gets all of the fun photos of the wedding guests throughout the reception as well.

Two... DH didn't think it was necessary for us to have two photographers b/c he didn't care about pictures of him getting ready & now I think he regrets it.

I had to make the choice to go down to one photographer and one assistant. I'm happy he will at least have someone there to lend a helping hand, but it was either get a 2nd photographer or be able to get albums. My budget made the decision for me lol

We had the same decision to make, and decided on the 2nd photographer and just the one album that we get with the package. We are going to just make our own parent albums on Shutterfly instead of paying for extras through the photographer- they are SO crazy expensive!

Many places we went to did not have an assistant. Was it possible to just have 2 photographers?

I didn't even think of that but it's a really good idea because the albums really are expensive. If we can afford two then that's what we'll do.

This might sound odd but you might want to talk to your DJ. We have an all inclusive that has the one photographer but we're planning to do an upgrade with our DJ for the tvs to show videos and pics that includes what he calls a piggy-back photographer and this photographer will get all of the shots during that day and we get to keep all of the pics. So you might want to see if your DJ offers that

I am having two- the reason i chose two was because it was important for me to have pictures of FH getting ready! :)

I was originally booked with one and I posted this same question and because of the responses I actually added a second photographer and I'm so happy I did now rather than regret it later on.

We have our Venue all day and will be getting ready there so that def helped make our decision easier to have one photographer only. I'm not regretting the decision, because price wise it means that we can get the Photobooth that FH was dying for.
