I have been trying to get a job in the school for years (social work). Now, every district has their own website. And will only accept online applications. Im no computer wiz, but b.c of this, Ive been putting off applying b.c I know how long its going to take (an hour or two) per application.
Any suggestions on making this process easier?

I just completed ONE districts application. It took me 55 minutes!!

They are very time consuming. I started one last week and haven't finished it yet. I didn't know it was going to take soooo long!!!

I'm with you... I've been trying to get a school psychology position forever... I'll be in a preschool till I die... but the online apps are a pain. I did one today and it took about a half hour... they do get easier as you go along because you know the info. It just a pain.....

I am having the same annoying experience. I sent out a whole bunch of resumes and half of them sent me a postcard back saying they're only accepting online applications. Each application takes like an hour (some even require an essay/personal statement of course all with different questions!) they should just have one through boces that everyone looks at. SOOOOOOOOO frustrating!

Nassau BOCES just started their own consortium, and one application on thier website works for several districts. I wish they would all work together.
I too did a mass mail in January, and so many districts are only accepting online apps.
But I did get a leave replacement out of it!

i'm with you ladies b/c i feel like i could do the job but getting the job is so hard!!! i have been out of school for three months and i am clueless as how to apply...i am discouraged with the whole process. i wish you ladies all success and luck!!!

I am looking for a job in Westchester County and all they accept are online applications and I hate it!!! It's soo annoying and confusing to work with.
I went thru all the schools websites this morning (boss is out!!) and besides the BOCES consortium of 12 districts, there are alteast 12 more that only accept online apps. So my next goal is to go to each and set up my acct.
Uggh, between job search and wedding planning I have like 10 jobs!!
