Only 2 Groomsmen for my wedding

Help Ladies,

I am having a men shortage for my wedding. Dear FH only has 2 brothers who are available. He is very anti-social and stays to himself. So, he is not close to anyone.

I am in the process of asking my best friend to use her bf to participate in my wedding, but I don't know him well. I just love how the Bridal party looks with 4 people on each side (girls) & (guys) and a additional little flower girl & ring bearer. Totalling 5 on each side.

I am getting very desperate.

Do either of you have cousins you can invite? Or is there any co-workers he's close too?

The bridal party should really represent people that love and care about you, not just to look nice.

Honestly hon, I don't think you should try and pull people out of the woodworks. Being in a bridal party is an honor, and should be reserved for those closest to you. I mean, do you really want to look at your wedding pictures in 20 years and say 'who was that?'.

And, uneven bridal parties don't look bad at all!

My Fi is not from the US so he doesn't know really know anyone here. He is hoping his brother and cousin can make it to be in the bridal party but we really don't know if they will get visas to come into the country until that last minute. He has one close male friend in his MBA program but he's not sure he will ask him.

We will ineveitable end up with 2-3 groomsmen and I have no problem with that.

I have people I could ask but I think they will know I asked just to be fillers and that is not a great feeling.

Don't ask people to be in the bridal party because it looks better.

Do you really want photos of people you don't know that well?

Also - they will know they were an after thought at this point so it's kind of strange to ask.

I only have 2 GM actually only one since the other is the Man of Honor (his bestfriend) the GM is his brother.

I have my best friend as my MOH and his sister and my sister as BM's

Does your Fi have any male cousins that he knows on this level that he can offer a GM position? Does he have any close or relatively close friends? Honestly, my DH and myself only offered wedding party positions to friends that we were close to through the recent years. Thus, our wedding party members are our closest and most dearest friends and still are to this date.

It's YOUR wedding. You can have an uneven number of men match with a large number of women. Do what you feel is right. Two women can walk down the aisle with only one man side-by-side.

He recently started a new job and has only been there 1 year and he doen't know people that well.

I thought the same about, the bridal party should be an HONOR and it should be represented with loved ones and friends. After getting you girls opinion, I don't want any filler in's.........

I have a male cousin available, but I don't like his attitude and my fh has cousins, but he really don't keep in touch, so he feel a little uncomfortable to ask, I am sure it will work itself out.

is an honor and reserved for those closest to you. I think i would like to

I would like to have a matron, maidofhonor, 1 bridesmaid & 1 flower girl.


For his side I wanted to have a best man, & 2 groomsman. Plus the ring bearer. Well, come to think, of it, I am only 1 male short.

His uncles are over 50 years old.

I just hope he gets in touch with one of his old time buddy/friend.

I spoke to my old male classmate friend yesterday, and I asked him would he be able to do the favor of being in my wedding party, but his 'yes' did not sound too happy.


I guess, by January, maybe it will work itself out. I will think of a person whom I love to participate.

I have been so stressed, having sleepless nights.
