Only one response today.. (long, vent, whine, whatever)
Another 'no'
Also FH's aunt finally realized she wasn't invited. She told FMIL 'That's Fxcked up' but I don't think FMIL defended us even though the entire reason we decided not to invite her was because of how she was treating FMIL (and us).
Long story short FFIL and his sister this aunt split up their parents stuff in 2008 and 2009 after FH's grandparents passed. FFIL had 2 sets of their flatware. One set was all random stuff and one was a complete set of silverware.
After FFIL passed away last year the aunt asked FMIL if she could have one of the sets. FMIL thought she wanted the random one and said OK and gave us the silver and sent the Aunt the other set.. Aunt threw a shytfit saying FMIL deliberately sent her the wrong one. FMIL doesn't stand up for anything and asked us to switch with the Aunt. We were like 'no, actually we want this one.' The other one was crap, and FFIL and the aunt had already split the stuff before FFIL died, so this by rights belonged to us.
Aunt went insane and was so nasty. She made fun of FH for crying, saying he was being too sentimental over stuff that belonged to his dad and gradnparents, all the while claiming SHE had to have it because it belonged to HER parents.
She proceeded to say that FMIL had no claim to it because it wasn't her parents. When we told her we didn't want to give it to her she said if we didn't she'd never speak with FMIL again. Bear in mind FFIL had just passed away and FMIL has known this aunt for 40 years, so she would have been devastated, so we didn't say anything to her and we just sent it back like 'fxck you, hope you choke on it'
I'm still so angry about this situation because seriously 1) She had no claim to it, it belonged to FFIL when he died, so FH had every right to it 2) We were really happy to have the silver from his gradnparents and any normal aunt would be like 'oh my nephew who is getting married will make good use of it, god bless' 3) She claimed she needed it because she had the same set and needed service for 24. 4) She was willing to just like dump my FMIL over it, and now that we sent it to her, everything is hunky dory between her and FMIL and we are the azzholes.
So I guess this means none of FH's cousins from FL will be coming to the wedding.
