OOooh, I feel so guilty!!

From time to time I google my ex. Don't know why, I just do. Well, nothing ever comes up, just old football crap. Well, just did it today and I found a mention that he got married in September!

I just feel so guilty now, like I've pried into his life...

Don't feel guilty!!!! I got an email about 2 weeks before my wedding from my 'first love'. I guess he googled me and found out that I was getting married and wanted to congratulate me. It didn't bother me at all. I google people all the time. I think we all do.

I agree with Heidi. I Google people all the time. I even google my friends and DH, just to see what comes up.

It is not invading his privacy if it is publically printed and recognized.

OMG - I'm not the only one who's done this!!!!! Farah, I've done this too! When I hear about my old ex getting married, divorced, now engaged and running his own bathtub restoration business..... well I couldn't help but google him too - just out of curiosity. I actaully never found anything, but I felt SO guilty for looking - I was googling one time when Craig called to! I felt so adulterous!

More about his wedding? Well, you can start by looking up his bridal registries at Wedding Channel. I do that for random people I went to school with, just out of curiosity. Maybe they have a wedding website there.

Ive done this before and it seems like a lot of us do so dont feel guilty!

But how the heck do you find out someone is getting married?????

Juliet - good idea about checking the registries!!...... oh no, guess my morning is shot now Curiosity just gets the best of me sometimes, I swear!

Just type the person's name into Google and see what comes up. Somehow through the years, Google has become a verb i.e. I googled it, I will google her/him.

and you can get info about specific people?

WOW...i tried that a while back and got silly unrelated things..

I am shocked anyone gets info about people they know!

redhead, I was never able to find anything about my ex when I googled him. I only found something on myself when I was in college bc one of my classes posted a group project on the school website. I guess it only works on people who have well documented lives?

I google people all the time. Sometimes I find significant stuff, sometimes I don't. I've managed to find out what some old friends are up to. Glad I'm not the only one!
