I spent a little too much this year. FH and I agreed to 200 dollars each and... well... I made a mistake and mis-calculated (yeah okay)
Anyone else do this? I feel bad but I couldnt pass up some of the items!!!
How do I even tell him haha

Re: Oooops
Every holiday we set a limit and every holiday I go overboard but FH surprises me throughout the year so I make up for it at the holidays

Re: Oooops
We agreed on $200 for xmas and bdays (his is right before xmas, mine right after). I went over and bought him an ipod ($350) plus about $150 of other stuff. He knows, so he went over too, although he says with 'his math' he didn't go over the budget (I have no idea what that means).

Re: Oooops
Tell him you got everything on sale so he thinks it was still under $200....I do that ALL the time but then last year FH went shopping WITH me and saw that I wasn't picking the sale stuff so now he knows how I really shop

Re: Oooops
we didnt even bother to set a budget because i am terrible at sticking to it! everytime i see something he would like i buy it, so he was like whats the point of even picking out a budget to begin with when youre always way over?

oh gosh - I went so over it's not even funny. He asked me the other day how much I spent, but he is the easiest person to shop for on my list and everything I see I'm like, 'oh Rich will look so good in this, or 'he will really like this'. It's so bad but he is sooooooo worth it!

I went overboard on FH this year too...but he deserves it!
I agree...just tell him everything was on sale...I mean with all the ads they have for 'doorbuster' sales, he'll never know!

Re: Oooops
I do it every year!!! I always send way too much! Now I don't even set a budget, I know its going to get blown. But I do bargin shop! I told my FH the other day, you'll see that I will make Christmas happen for our family by any means necessary. I will stand on long lines on Black Friday, shop online until my fingers fall off from clicking, dig though the racks at Marshalls, as long as every one in our family has a smile on their face Christmas morning!
Spoken like a true wife!

I totally did that...I think spent our budget on one gift for him. I just like getting him things and he never spends money on himself.

Re: Oooops
My FH refuses to set a budget.. EVER YEAR!!!!! the only thing we agree upon is that we will definitely do a 'homemade' (less than $5 gift) gift from the heart EACH YEAR as one of our gifts.. otherwise, we don't set a limit
