Oh stop!! I was always told if you ate meat purely by accident, it was far from a sin

Now if you deliberately had went out and said 'the heck with Good Friday, I want me a burger..' well then you might be in trouble (J/K )

My girlfriend recently told me that the 'meat' thing started in WWII when people could not afford meat. It did not start in biblical times so this makes me feel better when I forget-like tonight-again!!

My Father fasted on Fridays growing up, before WWII even began. The practice dates back to the beginning of Christianity. I certainly don't mean to make you feel bad! I'm still feeling the 'Catholic guilt' about my lunch!

I really don't know the story behind it but my girlfriend said she watched a special on it. Sorry!! We always avoided meat as a kid but as an adult I try to remember but usually don't!
