Oops...

Well, a package came in the mail today from Pottery Barn. Since I did not order anything and Vinny tries to discourage me from even WALKING into the store I had NO clue what it could be. IL's were home and told me to open it (it was addressed to Vinny's name)...

They thought it was a gift from one of their friends or relatives for our Engagement possibly... So I opened it, with them standing there and it was a Christmas gift TO me FROM Vinny It was a beautiful, engraved with my new initials, jewelry box... etched in glass and everything!! I felt so bad...

FIL looked at MIL, MIL looked at me... And we all went like this: FIL went into the garage to get tape, MIL boxed it back up, they taped it and made it look like it was never opened. It's our secret now lol and I have to act surprised- We all don't want Vinny to know b/c it will crush him.

I'm so happy with the gift, it is but I feel awful and sad that I found out when I was not supposed to...

Don't feel bad....it was an accident.

You are totally doing the right thing by keeping it a secret and feigning surprise when you open it.....what a wonderful partner you are!

ILs and I were all laughing!!

It was like when one of our Chinchilla's died-- it happened to die the night of us celebrating Vinny's birthday (out to dinner, etc) and MIL and I looked at each other and said 'Let's not tell Vinny until AS LONG as we can' lol

So we waited days- thank God he did not go into the room where they were and notice there was only one left

Finally, I told him a few days later- he was crushed!! He is a real animal lover and those were our first animals together ETA: he said 'no wonder you were so eager to go in there and feed them and take care of them- b/c you didn't want me to see he was GONE' lol

Ahhh this is such a DAni thing to happen

Don't be upset girl,its no big deal. What a great gift though..that Vin is soo thoughtful!!!

I'm glad you wrapped it back up though. Hey ..maybe after you open it, well a couple days later, you can tell him, and laugh together.

Aw..it was a mistake..and if anything you can blame ur In laws I mean they were the ones that told you to open it lol ...im kidding In any case, it is beautiful and now you just have to pretend to be excitied when you finally received it!
