should i be freaking????? FH got his a few months ago and said that he was told there is a delay now in getting them so i might be screwed now??

you can get it rushed to you, but the sooner you do it the better in case there are issues.

I ordered mine August 6th and got it yesterday. I would have it rushed just to be on the safe side.

My FH got his rushed to him last year when we went to Europe and he got it in 1 week.

Have it rushed - FH just did this and it came within 2 weeks.
I have been hearing that they are going to start requiring passports for Caribbean countries - although I don't know when this goes into effect - but it could cause a delay in getting passports.
For peace of mind, I'd get it rushed.

You can get it within a week or two...my FI did this. They can definitely rush it. It costs a little more...I think he paid about $200.

The Post office can expidite the info so you can get it in 2 weeks.
Or you can use your birth certificate and a valid license until 12/31/05 then its manditory to have a passport to get out of the country!!!

there is a place you can go to in Conn. and get in one day
If you are going on your HM right after your wedding I dont think you need one:
Beginning December 31, 2005, US citizens need a passport for all travel to and from the Caribbean, Bermuda, Panama, Mexico and Canada.
One form of identification, either a photo ID or passport as well as an on-going or return ticket, is required for U.S. citizens. Others will need a passport or visa depending on the country of origin.
