I have at least 20 relatives coming from out of town. How do I go about blocking rooms? Do I have to put a desposit down? Is the rpice break? and what places are good in the Huntington-Melville area.

Re: OOT
Just call the hotel and negotiate the rate (and whether you want shuttle service or breakfast included). With larger hotel chains you are not required to make a deposit. I recommend the Huntington Marriott or Huntington Hilton on Route 100 in Melville.

Re: OOT
We are putting our guests up at the same place we are having our reception at. In our contract it says they will block 10 rooms under our name at a special rate and then add to that block as the 10 get filled up. Our guests have to mention our wedding when reserving to secure the special rate. The contract also says that all guests have to make their reservations by a certain date (about one month in advance) in order to guarantee space and the rate.
Most places should offer you a discount if you are needing a block and no deposits should be required. If we do not fill up the block at Danfords, there is no penalty. The rooms are released back to the hotel one month before our wedding, I think.

melville mariott - doesn't have a shuttle but if you black a certain number of rooms and they get booked then you get free suite for the night - otherwise i think it is a discount - up to 30 rooms no guarantee - more than that you have to guarnatee half of them - i needed 60
