OOT accomodations???

OOT accomodations???

I booked the Holiday Inn Express out in Riverhead for my OOT guests to stay the night of our wedding... but it was still $220 a night! I feel like this is pretty pricey... we didn't even pay that to stay in Vegas!

Is this reasonable? Am I nuts?

Im in the dead of winter on a beach area & my guests are paying 189.00 for one hotel & the other is 159.00
So i think summer months that maybe right! SCARY.

We just called a Sheraton in Happauge this morning and they told me it would be $149 a night in May. The only downside is they do not offer a shuttle service...

well, I just feel like that is alot to ask my guest to pay... another hotel that is cheaper by 50$ is more than 20 minutes away.. it almost doesn't seem worth it- the girl who helped me 'Kim' who was really very helpful and patient with my questions told me that it's because its the closest hotel before the hamptons. Better than the new huge one out there... I think its a Hilton Garden Inn- you have to guarentee 2 nights and its $279 and night!!! And that was the group rate- NO THANK YOU

I looked into 2 hotels. The first one was pricey $200 a night and had a shuttle as long as you had 10 rooms or more, if you didn't you still paid the same amount. Mind you 2 nights are during the week and should be cheaper then the weekend nights.
The other place is 121 for week nights and 130 something for the weekend nights. Mind you it is closer, down the block and, you can take a cab if you had to and still spend less the then the other place.
Some places are just ridiculous.

Re: OOT accomodations???

I booked the Best Western in Riverhead. I called the Holiday Inn Express multiple times and never got a call back!! Both hotels offer shuttle service to my RH, but Best Western has a restaurant and Holiday Inn does not. For a Saturday night in October, the group rate is $199. I thought it was expensive too, but there's not much else around that area. If Holiday Inn had ever called me back, maybe that one was cheaper, but they just lost my business!

That is a little pricey, but being that its the summer that may be the best you can do.

I think that's pricey but then again my wedding is in January.. I am booked at the HIE and the group rate is $129 and $199 for the Bridal Suite. I don't know if they will but maybe they can negotiate

ETA: I wonder how come there is only a $20 dollar difference between the Bridal Suite and a regular room

Maybe you could go get a lower price from somewhere else and threaten to switch?? I'm at the Courtyard Marriot in Farmingdale in August for 165/night.

Re: OOT accomodations???

We got quoted like 199 for the hotels near great neck and I just don't know if I feel right about making the guest pay that. I mean they don't have too pay that but its like the best price I could get so far
