We bought gift bags in our colors at AC Moore....I'm putting bottled water, pretzels or chips, granola bars, gum, some candy or cookies and a tag w/ a poem I found on here....nothign crazy...just a nice gesture!
I put tissues, water, little debbie snack thingies (oatmeal squares & brownies), animal crackers, gum, jolly ranchers, starlight mints, a candle, and i think that might be it. I'd have to look - but i hit up Dollar Tree & got it ALL for maybe 60 bucks!

Someone on here mentioned putting something in the bags that show local flair Maybe some snack from a company from LI? I am doing that in PA by putting tasty cakes in them. I also found this letter on here...I hope it comes through its a cute poem.

Oriental Trading also has bags that you can personalize with your names & wedding date (pretty good bargain also) I am planning on putting in similar items that everyone else has listed with probably a People Magazine or something for the women

we are doing gift bags and putting a label with a cute picture our friend drew of us on the front. Then on the inside we are putting in, 'some of Heather and Brian's favorite things'.....which will be things like....peppermint patties, water bottle with propel powder drink packets, flavored tea, something soccer related....etc...

We made a little bag completely full of treats whether your mouth gets dry or thirsty or your in the mood for some sweets its just a small token full of love hugs and kisses to thank you for the trip you made to see the new Mr. & Mrs.

are you just giving this for out of towners that are staying at hotels? i have about 10 ppl coming from Poland. Should i do something for them? and my good friend from FL is goign to stay at her friends house here --- what do you think ????

I think it's a nice gesture for those staying at the hotel....I know when i went to a wedding out of town and got one i thought it was a nice touch.

yes, etenman's is from here...I think....you can also do LI wine....I have to really look for some local stuff...my friend did the peanuts with the Boston Red Sox logo on them for her Boston Wedding......they have that with Yankees/Mets.

hmmm....i'll check into that....
i'm from upstate ny....i was thinking maple sugar candy or something...it looks like too much hastle for this last minute bride, lol...
davenjess - I love the poem....now do you attach it to the bag/box? and how? I am sorry, I am the most uncreative person on earth....I am so clueless when it comes to putting this stuff together.

what i did was i punched a hole in the card itself & punched a hole in the top of the box & will attach with ribbon...
