Re: OOT bags... are you doing them or no
I'd love to do them considering half of the people we are inviting are OOT'ers! I don't know the first thing about the cost but if I were to guess I'd say no more than $10-15 per bag - just snacks and candy and water bottles......

yea I want to do them even though we're probably onlly goin to have a few overnighers. I plan on going to Costco or BJ's or something though and getting the water bottles and candy and stuff from there. Buying in bulk is cheaper!

Re: OOT bags... are you doing them or no
We are not having a lot of OOT. Most of the family is still in NY or close NJ. When it gets closer to the time, i guess we'll ask who would like to stay in the city or near the place and we can block rooms. If we do that I may go OOT bags.

I want to do them but have to see how much it will be. I don't want to spend more then $15-$20 per bag. I figured give them a map of LI with points of interest marked down. A listing of things to do that weekend. Some snacks from LI and maybe a bottle of wine.

It's a great idea, but we hardly have any OOTs coming to the wedding. Mostly everyone is in NY or NJ.

If i can do it cheaper I will.. i thought the bottle of wine added the cost but i don't know yet because i may buy a case and get a reduced rate. I have I think really 10 OOTners.
Hey my pic finally changed after three days of attempting to change it!!!

if i did them this is what I was thinking. I have A LOT of OOT family that I think will be coming. So I mean even 10 rooms at 10 dollars per bag is an extra 100 bucks!!!! A lot of mine also comes down to whether or not we are providing transportation to the hall. Right now it is looking like a yes because it is such a hike we don't want anyone getting tanked and driving home. So basically between time and my budget we will see what happens.

Re: OOT bags... are you doing them or no
I'm having a mini-destination wedding, so 100% of my guests will be out-of-towners! I figure they're driving 2 or 3 hours and paying to spend the night, the least I can do is leave them a little something. But I wasn't really thinking stuff that costs much; I figured I'd print them up a list of stuff to do in the area, leave a local map, give them an itinerary of the weekend, stuff like that. And maybe add in a couple of bags of chips and some bottled water. I wouldn't spend more than $4 or $5. It's more about the thoughtfulness of it - people are traveling far and paying to spend the night to see me get married, so I think it will be nice to have something waiting for them in their rooms so they know I was thinking of them.

I like the wine idea. I was also thinking if my oot guest bring their kids ( praying they do not ) I would put a coloring book and crayons in the bag.

Re: OOT bags... are you doing them or no
Im putting in a map of the area, a list of our favorite restaurants, granola and/or candy bars, a couple bottles of water, and I also like the wine idea, but dunno bout that since a lot of my parents friends dont even drink- it would be a waste. I like the asprin idea. But I figure this will all equal like $5 a bag as some other people mentioned. Not too bad!!
