If we're living out of state, can we get NY marriage liscences? Most likely we'll be living back in NY at that time (fingers crossed!) but there still is that slight chance that we may have to move to China for 6 mos- 1year (FH's job, and an opportunity to save TONS of $$). I'm wondering how this all works. Do you get a NY liscence if you live there, or only if you get married there?

I think you can get married anywhere you want, you just have to get the license within 60 days of your wedding date, but not the day of.

I beleive yyu aget a marriage license in the state you are getting married in....see how britney had to get a marriage license when she was in Vegas?

From the info I have because i live out of state, you have to get your marriage license in new york and remember there is a 24 hour waiting period. You can find the info on the planning board. Also remember your officiant has to be licensed in new york as well. I thought i lost mine but thank god he is because he lives in atlanta too.
