I have 1 BM & 1 GM and 2 FGs that are out of state. How are you going about having them order and get their gowns fitted? Do I just get their measurements and order the gowns here myself, then ship them down so they can get fitted down there? Or just send them the designer, style # and color and have them order the gowns themselves in their home state?

I am ordering my OOT BM dress with the rest (she is giving her measurements). I have heard horror stories that if they are not ordered together a dresses can be different in color.

Due to Dye Lots..... yes we are ordering together.
None of my BM and MOH are in the same state. One in TX, One in IA one in Albany, NY. Took the NY out this weekend. Now I'll email that to my MOH in TX, if she likes it then it'll go to my Sister in IA and then I'll have them all send in the Money by the first week of Feb. I hope! Then I'll order from here.

I would have them order their dresses where they live... otherwise they will have to come by you for fittings.. JMO..

They can always find a seamstress local to them for their fittings - most dry cleaners have tailors or seamstresses.
It IS a really good idea to order them all together because the dyelots can be drastically different - moreso than you'd expect. Have them send you their measurements.

GIVE THEM THE DRESS NAME AND MAKER AND TELL THEM TO GET IT AT A PLACE BY THEM. IF FOR SOME REASON THEY CAN'T GET IT THEN I WOULD GET THEIR MEASUREMENTS AND THEN WHEN THEY COME IN MAIL IT TO THEM. I HAVE A FEW THAT ARE IN THE CITY AND SOME IN PENN. SO I KNOW HOW HARD THIS IS FOR YOU!

i have been a bridesmaid living out of town and i have usually ordered the dress from the salon, but used my measurements and then they tell me what size to order. then i'd have the dress shipped to me and have it altered where i live. it worked out well for me. just because you get a dress at one place doesn't mean you have to alter it there.

I have just a MOH & a bridesmaid-- One in CA & one in NJ. I have NO idea what to do. I hate to pick something out without them both trying it on, since there is also a vast age differnce bewtween them ( 33 & 16)
I was thinking maybe find one myself & try & find them a store near them that carries it so they could try it on & if we agree, then send me measurements & I'll order them together & send them to them or have the store send them to them & have them ge tthem altered at home. Even the one in NJ, is about 2 hours from LI & doesn't drive yet, so its going to be difficult.

My BM from Florida took her measurments while she was up for christmas and paid for her whole dress and paid extra to have it shipped to her in Florida. She will have it altered down there and bring it with her when she comes up for the wedding. All I have to do is wait for the rest of the girls to get measured and put a deposit down and then I will go ahead and order them ( even my BM form Florida) all at once so they are all from the same lot.
