So, I went to two weddings, and sent a gift to 1 for friends in Virginia last year. I only recieved 1 thank you card though. I mean it's not a huge deal, but i just find it kind of strange that i gave the gifts, but never got a thank you. I did send one gift about 2 months late (though it was only partially my fault - my friend was supposed to bring it with her to the wedding, and then ended up not going at the last minute)...
Does anyone know if thank you cards aren't as common outside of New York?
ETA: whoops - forgot it was '05 for a sec

Re: OOT Etiquette - Thank You Cards...
I actually FINALLY got a thank you card around the New Year for a gift I sent to my friend in Indiana....who's wedding was in July. However, most of my other friends from Indiana and the rest of the Midwest were quite prompt in their thank you notes, since they don't do the picture thank yous. In other words, good manners are common everywhere!

Re: OOT Etiquette - Thank You Cards...
We missed a wedding in SC last June and we sent a gift. We never got a TY either. I was afraid my gift got lost, so I asked a friend who did attend the wedding if she got one and she said NO. I don't get it - that seems like basic etiquette to me!
And, the girl who got married was at both my wedding and the friend I asked about the TY and she got TYs from both of us!!
