I have to admit I know nothing regarding out of town guest baskets. What do you put in there and when do you give it to them?

Re: OOT guest baskets
I am leaving mine at the hotel desk and the hotel can give it to my out of towners when they check in. I am putting in mine: bottle of water, chips, candy, maps of the area, a cute poem, etc.

Re: OOT guest baskets
We put in a welcome note, maps to the local attractions, LI guide, and NYC subway maps for free from the tourist bureaus, maps to the ceremony location, a list of local resturants, 2 water bottles, 2 sodas, gum, chocholate kisses, cereal bars, chips, breath mints. Price Club was a huge help!
We left the bags with reception at the hotels with our guests names on them and they all got them. Our guests really seemed to appreciate them!

Give them pamphlets/map of the area, snack foods, water, some homemade cookies, stuff you think they'll need durung their stay. Since you're getting married in August, if you think people may go to the beach or a pool, maybe you can get beach towels embroidered with your names and wedding date. My friends got married at a golf resort in Jamaica and they gave beach bags with golf tees, sunblock, towels, disposable cameras, tissues, aloe, and some other little things that really came in handy.
