My mom wants to invite OOT guests to the rehearsal dinner. What are you ladies doing if your guests are arriving the day before?

Re: OOT guests at rehearsal dinner
I think that we are only doing parents, siblings (they're already included in the BP), and the rest of the BP with their guests.
I'll probably include information on nearby dining in the OOT bags so that anyone coming in the day before has info on where to go for dinner. we have too many OOT guests to accommodate them all at the RD.

That is what I was going to do but my parents want to invite some out of town guests which I think is going to be a lot of people.

Re: OOT guests at rehearsal dinner
Since we were on a budget for the RD, we only had immediate family, BP and their dates. My parents wanted to invite some OOT too, but then where do you draw the line?
So we just said no

We invited OOT guests. Most were from my ILs side, and they hosted the RD so as far as I was concerned, they could invite whoever they wanted.

We did this... my in-laws hosted it - had 70 people at the RD, which is a lot, but many people traveled from far distances to be with us, that we felt it would be a nice gesture to include them.
So that it didn't feel like it would be a repeat of what would happen the following night at our wedding, our RD was buffet-style and people sat wherever they wanted. It was still on the formal side - held in a hotel ballroom, guests wearing cocktail dresses & suits, etc. Personally, I loved including so many people since many of them I was meeting for the first time that night, so I felt I knew who they all were by the next day for our wedding.

We debated this too--we are keeping the rehearsal dinner just immediate family and Bridal Party. However, because we also wanted to do something for our OOT guests, we are hosting a brunch the morning after the wedding at the hotel. Hope that helps!

This.
We are inviting 400 people to our wedding, and my FH's family all lives in PA, all of our friends are in MD, and quite a bit of my family is traveling from Ireland. If we invited all of the people who were coming from out of town to the RD, it would be wedding reception part 1. I made it clear to my FMIL that I want to spend time with those closest to me that night, as I won't have as much of an opportunity the next day because of obligatory schmoozing at all of the tables haha. I am including a list of places near the hotel that the guests can choose from if they are interested in eating out the night before. Good luck!

Re: OOT guests at rehearsal dinner
My mom wanted to invite oot guests however my fil's are paying for it...and it was going to be 11 or 12 oot so we opted out as we didn't feel it was fair to do that. so its just going to be bridal party and aunts and uncles.
We are hosting a brunch the morning after the wedding for our oot guests as well.

THIS! We are invited parents, BP and spouses, and grandparents to the RD. We are doing a brunch the day after the wedding for the OOT guests.

we're planning on doing this...we're going to have a 'meet and great' also at the bar at the hotel the night before the wedding so everyone can meet and hang out

I love the idea of a meet and greet at a bar the night before. Maybe if our RD is early enough we can just plan something like that to make everyone feel welcome. Thanks for the idea.

no prob! Yes we're going to be having A LOT of people staying at the hotel the night before and I can't expect FH's parents to pay for all of them for dinner, so we're gonna do a very small RD and then meet everyone at the bar at the hotel to mingle :)

Re: OOT guests at rehearsal dinner
We are inviting out OOT guests to both the rehearsal dinner and brunch... we have friends/extended family coming in from California, Ohio, Chicago, etc and we thought it would only be right to invite them...we are probably going to have 75 people at the Rehearsal dinner which is a lot and probably even more at brunch.

Re: OOT guests at rehearsal dinner
Don't even get me started on this topic LOL. My FiL's don't want any OOT guests, so it's pretty much just going to be BP and grandparents...although I'm inviting my ONE OOT Aunt (so she's not sitting home alone).
