I had a couple of people recommend that I should send out my invites in mid-March with a June 27th absolute last RSVP date instead of mid-April, especially to the OOT guests (one of my hotels wants rooms in the block booked by June 10th). Does this sound crazy?

I would send out the OOT invites a little bit earlier so people can make the appropriate arrangements. My hotel will release the room block 30 days before the wedding, so I plan on sending the OOT invites earlier. I am also including the hotel info with the STDs since I have such a large # of OOT guests.

I did STDs, but without hotel info. (I didn't think I needed to send them with hotel info!!!)

We sent our invites to those living abroad and out of state (must fly in, can't drive) about 3 weeks before sending them out to everyone else.
We sent STDs to everyone but most people won't buy airfare until they receive the invitation

yep i sent my invites out jan 18 for OOT and feb 15 for people in the city
so they can get time to book hotels, and flights

I didn't even THINK about the people who absolutely must fly. . .especially because July 2009 plane tickets must certainly be available by now with LOTS of deals available.
Okay, it's settled--OOT is going out in mid-March.
