Sorry this is so long! For some reason I feel like my dad is making this more difficult than it needs to be
He insists that he needs to go to Men's Warehouse for his tux b/c he had a really good experience at the one upstate where he lives. My FH wants to go to a tux place that he has used for several weddings in the past where he was in the party and knows they are reasonable..good service, selection, etc., etc.
My dad apparently had a bad experience maybe 30 years ago when he was in a wedding and they didn't measure him well so his pants were too short Also, I only recently saw my dad in a *suit* for the first time (!!!) ..he never wears them to work or anything so that's perhaps why he's being a bit of a nervous nellie about this
Can my dad just have his measurements taken at Men's Warehouse and then get his tux from the place my FH likes? Does his tux have to match everyone elses? I keep telling my dad that FH has used this tux place before and they have never had a problem with short pants or anything else I also have heard some negative reviews of the local Mens Warehouse stores on this site.. we tried finding other places with locations both upstate and here but had no luck. My dad will be getting into town the day before my wedding (well, 2 evenings before) but I'm sure someone can drive him to the tux place..is that enough time for a fitting?

We have two GM who live down south in the Carolinas (one in each). We went to Tuxedo Park and picked out all the tuxes. They entered all the guys names into the computer and what each one would be wearing (the groom, the best man, the groomsmen, the ushers, and my brother who is walking me down the aisle). She gave me little cards for the guys to have their measurements written down on, and called into the shop for computer entry, so their tuxes will be ready for P/U before the wedding.

That is exactly what we did at our tuxedo shop. Long before there was a Men's Wearhouse this is what people did. Most of our GM's have already returned their cards and from what FH told us from having his father measured the other day, the shop bought brand new tuxes. Everyone will be wearing new stuff!
Tuxedo shops measure out of town BPs all the time. It is a 'courtesy' of a fraternal nature and is more of a common practice than you think.

Where is tuxedo park?
There are two - one is in Carle Place/Westbury next to Bridal Reflections, the other is on Main Street in Huntington.
Thus far we've had a great experience with them. We originally went in months ago looking for white dinner jacket, but much to FH's disappointment pure white only comes in polyester. They said they had diamond white in Carle Place store and would bring it over so I could match my sample dress fabric to it and see. Well, we didn't make it back for two months, but the woman remembered us when we walked in, and still had the diamond white there for us to see. FH tried on 4-5 different styles before picking what he liked.

All of my FH's groomsmen are from OOT. They are all getting measured in their respective towns and sending the measurements to the shop that my FH picked. This is something shops are used to.
I had to do the same with the BM too.

you ladies are making me nervous! FH is in a differnt country and wont be here until 3 weeks before the wedding. i have no idea how he will be measured.
