OOT Wedding, need your help...

OOT Wedding, need your help...

Ok Girls...I need your help!!!

I used to be REALLY good friends with a girl from college. The problem was that whenever she would meet a guy, she'd disappear off the earth. She was dating one guy for 2 years and I met him once and spoke to her maybe 5 times during that time. She SWORE it was ALL HIM when they broke up. Then she began dating another guy. About 2 years now I guess. SAME STORY...I met him ONCE when they first started dating, and I only speak to her once in a while if I CALL HER!!! ...Now they are getting married in Vegas next month on a wednesday. We're not going to the wedding, but I feel like I should send a gift.

What is appropriate??

Also, tonight is the bachelorette party and I already said I'd go, but I SOOOOO DO NOT want to go. I'm only gonna know her and her sister. I dont even feel like I have that much in common with the bride anymore anyway.

Should I just $uck it up and go???

Oh Meme... hard decision. I know you'll do whatever you see right. Like you said, she only lets you know whats going on in her life when YOU call HER. I have a similar situation, and I'm still unsure what to do. I wanna do right by her.. but I'm wondering why?! Cause she hasn't done right by me for a long time.
Go with what your gut says... If you like the sister and are still close with her, then go. You just might have a good time

In this situation, the only thing to do is go with your gut!!! In regards to the b-party tonight, go, you might have fun!!!! When someone does not put the same amount of effort into a relationship as you, it gets very fustrating...I know you feel that you should send a gift for her wedding, but do you think she is going to return the favor...that is the bigger question/...

I have noticed lately in my life, a wedding brings people out of the woodworks who you haven't spoken to...To me, those are fair weather friends & are not worth so much of the effort

If I go to the B-party tonight, I'll be missing my sisters (MOH) birthday dinner and FH's cousins (groomsman) birthday dessert.

I was friends with the BRIDE in college, I don't even really like her sister.

I think you said it there... I don't think you really want to go (and thats OK:)
You should spend the time with the people who are important to you. And your sister and FH's cousin are those people..
Go have some dinner and eat cake!!!!
And DON'T feel guilty about doing it!

Ohhh....did you know that before you said yes?

Sometimes the things I dread doing...end up being the funnest things ever.

As Kissy said, go with your gut.

If you can't go to the wedding, I would send a nice check or a nice present to her after she gets back.

I only found out about dinner for my sis last night. FH was going to go to his parents without me.

There's more to the story regarding the bridal shower...

This girls sister supposedly sent me an invitation but I never got it. Then she called me to see if I was coming. I emailed her back to tell her that I know NOTHING about it.
Anyway, she never got back to me, so I had to call the brides mother to find out that the 'bridal shower was yesterday' with a BAD ATTITUDE!!! Her mom will be there tonight too...
